Mashi no Mashi Relocates To Chinatown With Japan-Famous Wagyu Ramen

The menu remains centred on the restaurant’s famous Wagyu ramen, with the Ultra Wagyu Ramen ($18.80++) taking centre stage. Here, Wagyu bones are cooked with a three-stage heating method, resulting in a rich and robust soup similar to pork tonkatsu.

When we visited the eatery’s first location in Bugis last year, we found the broth beefy yet buttery, pairing well with the piquant chilli sauce that was added to the bowl. We also enjoyed the succulent, meltingly tender A5 Wagyu beef slices in the ramen, though the thin strips of meat tended to overcook when left sitting in the hot broth for a while.

Alternatively, order the Wagyu Tsukemen ($23.80++), which pairs thick noodles topped with slow-cooked Ozaki beef and a variety of toppings, paired with a side of 24-hour stewed Wagyu bone broth for dipping. Interestingly, there’s also a Singapore-exclusive Wagyu Bak Kut Teh ($30++), available at a special price of $19.65 to commemorate SG60 this year!

The soup is said to be peppery, packed with tender chunks of Wagyu beef ribs. If you prefer rice to noodles, check out Mashi no Mashi’s donburi selection, starring Charsiu Donburi ($22.80++), and Wagyu Steak Rice ($32.80++).

Wash everything down with their new Suntory Highball on Tap ($12++), which pairs perfectly with the richness of the dishes, adding a refreshing touch to your meal. The new restaurant is a six-minute walk from Chinatown and Telok Ayer MRT Stations. This addition joins the brand’s existing outlets in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
