Bock Beer Day brings conviviality to Elburg
ELBURG - Lovers of bock beer and good times can once again indulge themselves on Saturday, September 26, during Bock Beer Day in Elburg.
The program at the Havenkade starts around 12:00 PM. One of the beautiful traditions of Bock Beer Day is the special arrival of the bock beer: the beer is brought to the harbor by Elburg botter. Not long after, the first barrel is tapped and the festivities can begin.
Those wishing to discover various bock beers can make use of the Bock 'm Card. This allows participants to sample bock beers at various Elburg hospitality establishments. Naturally, tasty snacks are also available, and for those wanting to try something different, there is even bock beer ice cream. However, the Bock Beer Day is not just about the beer. The convivial atmosphere, music, historic city center, and numerous visitors make it a special event year after year. There is also plenty to experience within the Vesting (fortress). A beer carriage travels through the historic streets, and along the way, musicians, the town crier, and the Elburg Halberdiers, among others, provide extra atmosphere. The festivities begin around 12:00 PM, and admission to the event is free. A minimum age of 18 applies to participate in the beer tasting.
