Three organic companies present themselves during Food Pioneers Pitch Event
Nineteen food entrepreneurs will present their companies and growth plans on Thursday, October 8, during the Food Pioneers Pitch Event in Almere.
Bo&Co Drinks, owned by Karin Gefken, makes organic syrups that are produced locally in Amsterdam. All of the company's syrups are certified organic, and the production is also SKAL-certified. The range consists of five flavors, including elderflower, raspberry, and lemongrass-ginger. Mati, founded by Elisa Leeser and Suza Zeegers, makes an organic yerba mate drink without sugar or sweeteners. The entrepreneurs traveled to Brazil to develop the product and visited organic yerba mate farms there.
Tim Weijnschenk's Weijnschenk is also among the participants. The company imports organic French wine and, by its own account, works exclusively with certified organic winemakers from France. The wine is bottled in the Netherlands in reusable deposit bottles. Upon return, the bottles are cleaned and refilled.
120 potential food startups The nineteen participants in the Food Pioneers Program were selected from more than 120 potential food startups. Over the past few months, they have been working on the further development of their businesses within the program. During the Pitch Event, they will present where their company stands, what growth plans they have, and what is needed to achieve them. Three participants stand a chance to win €50,000 in growth capital during the event.
"I think the best moment is when someone thinks after a pitch: I *must* talk to this person. Because that is where it starts. A new customer, a producer willing to brainstorm, or an investor who sees opportunities. Such a meeting can suddenly set a lot in motion for a young food entrepreneur, and that is what we want to facilitate on October 8," says Thera van Heuveln, Program Manager at Food Pioneers.
The Food Pioneers Pitch Event will take place on Thursday, October 8, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Enreach NL in Almere. Professionals from retail, foodservice, production, investment, media, and innovation, among others, can sign up for an invitation.
