Instead of traditional restaurants: by 2026, everyone will love gastronomic destinations like Mar de Sazzon

It's becoming increasingly common for culinary tourism to be one of the reasons people choose a destination.

This shift has been largely driven by so-called foodies, content creators who have made restaurants, markets, traditional dishes, and new culinary offerings the stars of their travels. For many travelers, discovering what to eat in a place is now almost as important as knowing what to visit.

And Spain has much to offer in this regard. Every city and town boasts products, recipes, and traditions capable of transforming a getaway into a gastronomic experience. Among the particularly attractive destinations for unwinding during September and October, and even during the winter, the south stands out, and specifically the Costa del Sol.

Between Estepona and Marbella there is a destination for food lovers

On the Costa del Sol, between Estepona and Marbella, there is one of those enclaves that allows you to concentrate in the same day some of the great attractions of the south: beach, pool, rest and a gastronomic proposal capable of turning a meal into one of the central moments of the getaway.

This is Laguna Beach, a complex located on Padrón Beach in Estepona, which brings together various leisure and dining options. Among its offerings is Mar de Sazzon, a restaurant that focuses on Spanish and Andalusian cuisine and seasonal produce.

The location also features a terrace specially designed to enjoy the outdoor experience and views of the coast.

Mar de Sazzon: southern cuisine with a focus on the product

Mar de Sazzon's culinary offerings are rooted in southern cuisine, where the quality of the ingredients takes center stage. The menu combines traditionally inspired starters with more elaborate dishes, as well as rice dishes, fish, meat, and homemade desserts.

Among the starters are dishes like stew croquettes or Retinta beef steak tartare. In the rice section, the creamy tiger prawn rice and the coquelet chicken rice with vegetables stand out, two options that emphasize flavorful broths and traditional cooking techniques.

Fish also plays a significant role. Among the offerings is a 600-gram grilled sole from Isla Cristina, perfect for sharing and served with a garlic sofrito, as well as grilled almadraba tuna loin. For meat lovers, the menu includes cuts such as aged beef ribeye and tomahawk steak from mature beef.

The experience ends with a selection of homemade desserts, including artisan cheesecake and fresh mango with yogurt ice cream.

From the beach to the table: a leisurely day

One of the unique aspects of these types of destinations is that they allow you to change the usual pace of a getaway. The day can begin by the sea, continue with a few hours of rest, and end around a meal.

Laguna Beach brings together different spaces around this concept. In addition to Mar de Sazzon, the complex offers beach leisure activities, swimming pools, relaxation areas, and other restaurants, allowing visitors to extend their stay for much of the day.

A getaway that can also be enjoyed in autumn

Sun and beach tourism doesn't have to end when August is over. September and October have become especially attractive months for those seeking pleasant temperatures, less of a peak season feel, and plans that allow them to enjoy the outdoors.

On the Costa del Sol, gastronomy adds to that appeal. The goal is no longer just to lie by the sea, but to find places to spend the day, eat well, and enjoy the surroundings.

And for travelers who make gastronomy an essential part of their getaways, proposals like Mar de Sazzon summarize one of the trends that is transforming the way we travel.
