Argentinean BBQ event brings live-fire cooking to Pennsylvania senior living community
Led by Cura Corporate Executive Chef Jason Clark, the event featured a live-fire grill where chefs prepared slow-roast bone-in short ribs, basted skirt steaks, and more.
Residents at Longwood at Oakmont in Verona, Pennsylvania, a Presbyterian SeniorCare Network Community, were treated to an open flame culinary showcase as part of the community's Argentinean BBQ event.
The event, led by Cura Corporate Executive Chef Jason Clark, featured a live-fire grill where chefs prepared slow-roast bone-in short ribs, basted skirt steaks, hand-pressed artisan beef burgers, house-made pork chorizo sausages and more.
There were also a handful of cast iron sides, including burnt carrots and garlic chips, wood-smoked baby marble potatoes, crispy yuca fries, and slow roasted peppers and broccolini.
The event featured a variety of dishes cooked over a live fire.
In addition, each table centerpiece featured hand-carved timber blocks holding scratch-made traditional Chimichurri, Salsa Criolla, Cumin Mint Aioli, and tangy Mustard Sauce alongside warm grilled flatbread.
For dessert, the chefs prepared fire-glazed peaches over melting dulce de leche ice cream, layered Chocotorta, and budín de pan, a type of bread pudding.
“I am immensely proud of our culinary staff whose hard work and mastery brought this vision to life. We look forward to continuing to push culinary boundaries and delivering extraordinary dining experiences across all of our Cura Hospitality communities,” said Clark in a statement.
Special dining experiences like Longwood at Oakmont’s Argentinean BBQ event are becoming more common in the senior living segment as residents continue to expect high-end dining experiences from their community’s dining program.
