A New Look at Sababay’s Reserve Series

A New Look at Sababay’s Reserve Series

Wine and Indonesian cuisine are finding increasingly natural company at the dining table, and Sababay Winery is bringing that connection into focus with its refreshed Reserve Series.

The new labels place the silhouette of Bali at their centre, complemented by a reflective Balinese pattern and prominent grape varieties that highlight the collection’s two distinct blending philosophies: Estate Blend and Luscious Blend. It is a visual statement of provenance, with each bottle proudly declaring its Balinese roots.

Reserve Red is a dry blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Alphonse Lavallée, offering ripe dark fruit, subtle spice, smoky notes and structure. Reserve White combines Chardonnay and Muscat Saint-Vallier, delivering tropical fruit, floral aromas and crisp acidity. Meanwhile, Ludisia presents the Luscious Blend as a semi-sweet red, with expressive notes of blackcurrant, vanilla, dark chocolate, dates, fig and cherry.

Developed under French Head of Winemaking and Distilling Guillaume Quéron, the Reserve Series brings together French winemaking discipline and Bali-grown grapes. Each wine is also designed with Indonesian gastronomy in mind: Reserve Red complements Rendang and Bebek Betutu, Reserve White pairs with grilled seafood and sambal matah, while Ludisia works beautifully with bold dishes such as Ayam Taliwang.

For those looking to explore Indonesian wine beyond the familiar, the refreshed Reserve Series offers a thoughtful introduction to the flavours, craftsmanship and culinary possibilities emerging from Bali.
