This food festival is bringing Manchester’s top chefs to London in a one-night-only culinary exchange

Foodies, clear your calendars. A cross-city culinary exchange is heading to South London as American Express Presents: Food Fest returns this autumn with a mouth-watering new concept. On Thursday, September 17, some of Manchester’s most lauded chefs are making the journey south to team up with London talent at Freight Brixton.

For one night only, four powerhouse chef pairings will serve up exclusive, never-before-seen dishes for Food Fest guests to enjoy. Tickets are priced at £15 per person and include a welcome drink, a savoury dish, and a full night of live music and DJ sets.

What’s on the menu?

Nell’s Pizza x Los Gordos: Bringing a taste of New York-style pizza to Manchester since 2020, family run Nell’s Pizza serves up thin, ultra crispy slices. Add in Los Gordos and you’ll uncover a tantalising take on Mexican street tacos.

Another Hand x Whole Beast: Michelin Guide-recommended, Another Hand, led by Chef owner Max Yorke celebrate foraged local ingredients and low intervention British produce. It’s a match made in heaven when they team up with Brixton’s nose-to-tail butchery and live-fire specialists, Whole Beast.

Osma x Little Bao Boy: Scandi culture, Nordic techniques and Michelin recommended quality meet in OSMA, whose Head Chef and co-founder Danielle Heron, you may recognise from The Great British Menu. But what happens when you bring a Taiwanese street food favourite, Little Bao Boy, into the mix? Unforgettable flavours and irresistible creations!

SAMPA x Black Stars: From a 12 seat chef’s table in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, SAMPA joins forces with Freight Brixton’s Jamaican jerk icons, Black Stars. Vibrant Brazilian flavors inspired by all 26 states of Brazil meet the bold, smoky spices of jerk cooking.

Food Fest guests select a 90-minute timed entry slot when booking and can hang out in the chill-out area afterward. But don’t forget that Amex ® Cardmembers get extra perks on the night, including a complimentary cocktail, fast-track queues, and access to a dedicated VIP bar.

If you miss the South London leg, the exchange moves up north to Freight Island Manchester on Thursday, October 22. London heavyweights—including Ixta Belfrage, The Barbary, and Kebab Queen – will be dishing up a feast, so keep your eyes peeled for ticket release.
