8 Eateries To Expect In 2025, Including The Long-Awaited Chick-fil-A

We’re down to the last month of 2024.

While it’s time to bid farewell to yet another year, it also means new, exciting things are waiting for us in the near future. These include new eateries in 2025, such as the long-awaited Chick-fil-A, a brand-new restaurant concept by renowned Chef André Chiang and more!

• 1. Chick-fil-A

After a brief pop-up in June 2024 at Esplanade, Chik-fil-A is finally opening a permanent store in Singapore, also said to be the first outlet in Asia. We don’t know when exactly doors will open, but we hear that it’s sometime in late 2025.

We were one of the lucky ones who got to try Chik-fil-A’s offerings during the pop-up, where we were given a takeaway set comprising the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, Waffle Potato Fries, and a drink: Coca-Cola Classic, Coca-Cola Zero, or bottled water. Their famous chicken sandwich featured a well-seasoned, tender chicken breast patty that paired well with the tangy pickles and a selection of condiments.

• 2. Lotteria

The time has come: Lotteria, Korea’s biggest fast food chain, is reaching our shores by June 2025. With more than 1,000 outlets in their home country, Lotteria has made a name for themselves as one of the largest fast food giants in Korea. We don’t know how similar or different the menu will be from the OG stores back in Korea, but it’s said that you can expect the usual burgers, fries, Korean fried chicken and more.

If we were to make a bold guess, we believe their famous Leah Burger will debut in Singapore as this has been a steady bestseller for ages. We also hope to try their long cheese sticks and another crowd-favourite, the Tornado Choco Cookie, featuring creamy ice cream mixed with chocolate cookie bits. Read our Lotteria Singapore feature.

• 3. Burnt Ends Bakery

Those serious about bread and pastries will surely know of Burnt Ends Bakery, best known for their wood-fired breads and house-blend coffee beans. Here’s good news for fans: the popualr brand, is opening a second outlet in collaboration with car manufacturer Audi in early 2025. The new space is relatively spacious and can house about 30 diners at once, along with an interactive coffee bar that gives you a peek at the baristas in action.

Since this bakery specialises in German-inspired pastries, it’s a must to try the Bavarian Beer-Battered Waffles (price TBD), which tastes best with a scoop of their Soft-Serve Ice Cream (price TBD) offered in three different flavours: whiskey, kirsch, and chocolate. We’re also hoping to try their signature doughnuts at the upcoming outlet, which come in all sorts of trendy flavours—Nutella, Iranian Pistachio, and Smoked Japanese Yuzu are some that stand out to us. • 4. Artbox Singapore

Here’s a bonus for food festival-loving folks: Artbox Singapore is slated to make their grand return in January 2025. Artbox 2025 will take place over two weekends, 17 January to 19 January and 24 January to 26 January, at Singapore Expo Hall 4.

While the complete list of vendors has yet to be announced, we know there will be more than 90 F&B stalls from all over the world—Thailand, Hong Kong, and Korea, to name a few. FYI, you can get the early bird prices till 23 December 2024 at $5 for a weekday entry and $6 on a weekend.

• 5. A Hot Hideout

A Hot Hideout needs no introduction; the popular mala joint recently announced their seventh outlet opening at Eastpoint Mall, slated to open sometime in February 2025. For easy access, the shopping mall is within spitting distance of Simei MRT Station.

All ingredients are charged by weight here, at $2.88 per 100g. We highly recommend getting a range of their deep-fried items, including fishcakes, potato slices, and luncheon meat.

• 6. Tous Les Jours

If you’ve been to Korea before, you’ll have seen the popular bakery Tous Les Jours multiple times. The bakery chain has more than 1,000 branches at the time of writing, and they are slated to open their first outlet in Singapore at Northpoint City.

While we don’t have much information on hand yet, we’re sure you can get a wide range of their freshly baked breads and cakes. For the latter, the Korean outlets see an extensive selection of flavours, including Very Berry Cheesecake, Earl Grey Chiffon Cake, and Blueberry Chiffon Cake.

• 7. Giraffa

Here’s one for those who love Japanese snacks: Giraffa, a famous Japanese chain selling curry buns, is finally opening their doors at Westgate in Jurong East. The best-selling Giraffa Curry Bread is priced at 450¥, or S$3.90, and comes packed with a delicious combination of meat curry and melted, stretchy mozzarella.

The treat is best enjoyed warm; the crispy, deep-fried milk bun gives the savoury treat more textural variety. Read our Giraffa feature.

• 8. Bon Broth

Opening in early January 2025 is Bon Broth, the brainchild of renowned chef André Chiang. This highly anticipated restaurant, created in collaboration with Surrey Hills Holdings, is a brand-new dining concept that lets you try a wide range of broths created at Chef’s Chiang broth lab in Taiwan.
