There's A New Shokupan Cafe In The CBD—DIY Toast, Matcha Creme Brulee And More

ICYMI: Bouef, a popular steakhouse in Telok Ayer known for its free-flow steak, has rebranded as All Hands Cafe. Specialising in shokupan toasts, this new brunch spot has just opened its doors, offering breakfast, brunch, and lunch to those in the CBD.

We recommend starting with their Signature Shokupan with Kaya Butter Snow & Eggs ($8.94), a modern take on everyone’s favourite local breakfast set. You get soft milk bread topped with house-made pandan kaya custard and salted butter, served alongside sous-vide eggs and a sprinkle of furikake for an umami hit.

For something savoury, try the Savoury DIY Toast ($8.90), which allows you to pick your base, from egg mayo to crispy sunny-side-up, and customise it with toppings such as sous-vide chicken breast (+$5) or sauteed mushrooms (+$4). If you’re feeling lazy, they’ve got a lineup of open-faced shokupan toasts to choose from, served with your choice of fries or salad. Beef lovers can order the A5 Sukiyaki ($28.49), featuring Japanese A5 Wagyu, yuzu kosho gribiche sauce, sous-vide egg, and a charred leek salad.

Otherwise, visit after 11am for some hearty mains, including Yolk Situation ($19.49), the cafe’s rendition of carbonara zhnged-up with crispy pork belly, and Laksa Barramoodi ($23.49), starring house-made laksa broth, crispy barramundi, beansprouts, and taupok. Bouef fans will be happy to know that they can get Bouef’s Best-Selling Rossini ($47.49): Australian Black Angus tenderloin, foie gras, mixed mushrooms, and black truffle sauce atop All Hands’ shokupan. There’s also the Boeuf’s Bourguignon ($32.49), where Australian Wagyu cheek MB5 and sauteed mushrooms are served on toast.

For dessert, matcha fans can indulge in their cravings with the Matcha Banana Pudding ($6.49), which comes with pandan base, matcha cloud, and crunchy Biscoff crumbs.
