Chingu opens Korean BBQ at Mälarterrassen
SIN Group continues its expansion in Stockholm. In the spring of 2027, the restaurant group will open a new Chingu on Mälarterrassen at Slussen. The Korean BBQ restaurant will be 680 square meters in size and will have a view of Stockholm's inlet and the Old Town.
Chingu is already located on Mäster Samuelsgatan in central Stockholm. Now it is clear that the restaurant concept will have another establishment when SIN Group signs a lease agreement with Atrium Ljungberg at Mälarterrassen.
The new restaurant will open in the spring of 2027 and will have an area of 680 square meters.
SIN Group is also behind Sin Ramen, which is located in Mood and the Slakthusområdet and will soon also be establishing itself in Söderhallarna.
Want to create a Korean BBQ destination
The name Chingu means “friend” in Korean and the concept is based on the social part of Korean BBQ, where food is prepared and shared around the table.
- We are proud of the trust from Atrium Ljungberg and to be able to take Chingu on to one of Stockholm's most exciting new destinations. Chingu means "friend" in Korean, and just like Mälarterrassen, our concept is based on community and meetings between people. Here we want to create a Korean BBQ experience worth traveling to and returning to, says Fang Hoang, CEO of SIN Group.
He also describes the establishment as an important step in SIN Group's long-term growth.
Mälarterrassen almost fully rented
Chingu's establishment also means that another important piece of the puzzle falls into place for Mälarterrassen. According to Atrium Ljungberg, there is now only one unleased space left.
Villa Valentina, Brasserie Astrid and Liv are already ready for the destination. A British pub concept from Desirée Jaks and John Wenström will also be established here.
In the autumn, another establishment focusing on music and culture is expected to be presented.

Six restaurant concepts at the new Slussen
Atrium Ljungberg's ambition is to bring together six high-profile restaurant concepts with different focuses on Mälarterrassen.
With Chingu, the offering continues to broaden with Korean BBQ alongside Spanish and Swedish influences and British pub culture.
Mälarterrassen is part of the larger development of Slussen, where Atrium Ljungberg is working to create a destination for, among other things, restaurants, culture, workplaces and meetings.
