Hospes Maricel opens an oyster bar in Mallorca, also open to the public

Hospes Maricel opens an oyster bar in Mallorca, also open to the public

The alliance introduces Oysters Menorca to the island with an afternoon and evening offering.

Tuesday, September 15, 2026

Hospes Maricel & Spa announced on Tuesday, September 15, the opening of an Oyster Bar in Mallorca, a new dining concept developed in partnership with Oysters Menorca. This addition expands the hotel's culinary offerings with a space focused on oysters and seafood, and also marks the Menorcan company's entry into the island.

The new concept is located within the hotel itself, facing the sea, and will be open to both guests and the general public. The hotel chain has indicated that access is not limited to hotel guests, a decision that opens the service to residents and visitors seeking an evening and nighttime option outside the hotel's usual activities.

The partnership with Oysters Menorca adds a business dimension to the opening. The oyster specialist company is thus launching its operations in Mallorca in collaboration with a high-end hotel, in a deal that unites a seafood restaurant firm with an establishment seeking to strengthen its seasonal offerings at a time of year when the island experiences a high level of activity.

Opening hours vary depending on the type of customer. For hotel guests, the Oyster Bar will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. For non-guests, the service will operate until the end of October from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. This timeframe places the bar in the late afternoon, when many coastal hotels and restaurants concentrate their activity on terraces and outdoor spaces.

The opening comes with summer still underway in the Balearic Islands and with temperatures that typically encourage the use of these types of establishments during September and October. During this period, many restaurants extend their culinary offerings to take advantage of the demand from visitors traveling outside the peak months of July and August, as well as from locals who revisit certain areas once the summer tourist season has ended.

Hospes Maricel & Spa is thus incorporating a format closely associated with fresh seafood and casual dining, but within a hotel setting. The oyster bar concept has become established in coastal destinations and high-end hotels as a way to diversify dining options with more focused menus and hours that align with afternoon aperitifs and early dinners.

The company emphasizes that the proposal aims to leverage the hotel's Mediterranean setting and an offering designed to extend the summer season. The collaboration with Oysters Menorca also allows them to introduce to Mallorca a brand that, until now, operated outside the island, specializing in a product closely linked to the premium hospitality sector.

With this opening, the hotel adds a new line of business in the restaurant sector at a time of year when gastronomy becomes increasingly important as an attraction for both hotel guests and visitors. Until the end of October, non-residents can access the Oyster Bar between 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., while hotel guests can enjoy the service daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
