The most Canarian 'cubata': Arehucas joins Clipper strawberry and passion fruit

The most Canarian 'cubata': Arehucas joins Clipper strawberry and passion fruit

Arehucas Rum and Clipper have joined forces to launch Arehucas MIX, a range of ready-to-drink beverages that combines Arehucas Carta Blanca with strawberry and passion fruit soda.

Both drinks are sold in 250ml cans and have an alcohol content of 5%. Distribution is handled by Ahembo and is concentrated primarily in hypermarkets, supermarkets, and convenience stores, with a more occasional presence in bars and restaurants.

The proposal brings together two brands closely linked to Gran Canaria. Arehucas maintains its distillery in Arucas, while Clipper is a soft drink brand produced in Gran Canaria by Ahembo.

The new range features two varieties. The first is a blend of Arehucas Carta Blanca and strawberry soda, Clipper's most iconic flavor.

The second one combines the same white rum with passion fruit Clipper, thus incorporating a tropical-profile alternative.

Ahembo presents both products within the Ready to Drink (RTD) category, meaning beverages that come pre-mixed and ready to consume. The company states that the launch aims to meet the demand for convenient formats intended for consumption outside the home.

The chosen format is a 250-milliliter slim can, while the alcohol content is 5% vol. The drinks are exclusively for adults over 18 years of age.

Arehucas already markets Carta Blanca within its catalog of rums, while Clipper has different flavors and maintains strawberry as one of its most characteristic references.

First industrial collaboration between Arehucas and Ahembo

Arehucas MIX represents the first industrial collaboration between Ron Arehucas and Ahembo, according to the latter company.

The alliance unites two Canary Island manufacturers that have previously collaborated on promotional activities. Clipper and Destilerías Arehucas, for example, participated in Alimentaria Barcelona 2026 in March as part of the delegation of companies promoted by Gran Canaria Me Gusta.

In the case of Arehucas MIX, Ahembo will be responsible for its marketing. The main sales channels planned are the food retail sector, especially supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores. Its presence in the hospitality sector will be more limited.

A campaign with content creators from the Canary Islands

The product also features a digital campaign spearheaded by content creator Aythami Soto, known as Pontebata.

Fany Ortega Gil, Rafa Márquez and Adrián González Mora are also participating, according to information released by Ahembo.

The company places this collaboration within its strategy to develop new products and adapt two well-known products in the Canary Islands to different consumption formats.

Arehucas, for its part, maintains a growth strategy outside the Archipelago and assures that it currently exports its products to more than ten countries.
