The 13th Gourmet Race Moraira-Teulada once again unites sailing, gastronomy and the Mediterranean

The event will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will once again transform the Mediterranean into a veritable kitchen on the move, combining sailing, creativity, competition, and haute cuisine.

Under the motto "Sail, cook, savor", the official poster for this edition reflects the essence of a unique regatta where the crews must demonstrate their skills both at the helm and in the kitchen.

A regatta where cooking is part of the competition

The Gourmet Race Moraira-Teulada maintains a completely different format from any other nautical event.

Before departure, participating boats receive a product that they must use as the main and mandatory ingredient to prepare a dish during the voyage.

Creativity, crew organization, and the ability to cook on the move will be key to convincing the jury.

Once back at the port, the teams present their creations in the Village of the Moraira Nautical Club, where they will be evaluated by a specialized jury.

A jury of international prestige

The 13th edition will once again bring together some of the biggest names in gastronomy. Alberto Ferruz, chef of BonAmb, will again head the jury, serving as president.

Also returning will be familiar faces from previous editions such as:

• Nazario Cano, from Ritual de Terra.
• Vicky Sevilla, from Arrels.
• José Manuel Miguel, from Beat.

The 2026 edition will also feature the return of two names closely linked to the history of the Gourmet Race:

• Juan Echanove.
• Cuchita Lluch.

Joining them as a new confirmed addition is Sacha Hormaechea, chef of the renowned Sacha restaurant in Madrid.

The organization will continue to announce new jury members during the month of September.

The challenge begins at sea

The 13th Gourmet Race will be open to both sailing and motor boats, with a minimum length of eight meters and a minimum of two crew members.

The competition will begin on Saturday, October 3rd at 09:45, with a staggered start from the Port of Moraira.

After the voyage, the crews will return to port to present their dishes to the jury, who will decide the winners of this new edition.

• The three best ranked crews.
• The best gastronomic presentation.
• The best amateur participant, in case the winner is a professional chef.

Moraira and Teulada, benchmarks of nautical activities and gastronomy

The Gourmet Race has become an exceptional showcase to promote Moraira and Teulada as destinations linked to the sea, gastronomy and the Mediterranean lifestyle.

The organization highlights the fundamental role of the collaborating institutions and companies that make the continuity of the event possible, including the Teulada Town Council, the Valencian Government, Engel & Völkers, Visauto Mercedes-Benz, Alicante Chamber and Náutica Mengual, in addition to numerous collaborating firms.

Their support allows the regatta to continue growing and maintain its own identity within the national nautical scene.

Thirteen editions of a unique experience

Since its inception, the Moraira-Teulada Gourmet Race has brought together some of the world's leading culinary figures. Its judging panel has included chefs and personalities such as Juan Mari Arzak, Dani García, Susi Díaz, Paco Torreblanca, José Carlos Capel, Kiko Moya, and Joël Robuchon.
