In Avellino, Irpinia Mood 2026: Over 90 Italian chefs tackle food intolerances
The tenth edition of "Irpinia Mood – Food Festival" will take place from August 27 to 30, 2026, at Villa Amendola, in the heart of Avellino, bringing together over 90 chefs from across Italy.
Each chef will participate in one evening and present a dish free of at least one of the main allergens, offering a culinary offering that combines innovation and respect for gastronomic identity. Culinary direction is entrusted to Mirko Balzano, who will coordinate a program aimed at connecting Irpinia's food and wine heritage with contemporary Italian trends.
The event, founded in 2015 by Alessandro Graziano and organized by Visit Irpinia, includes cooking demonstrations, tastings, and discussions with producers, researchers, and industry professionals. Coldiretti Avellino will contribute to the selection of local ingredients, strengthening the connection between agriculture and the restaurant industry.
Participants include well-known names such as Daniele Usai, Salvatore Avallone, Franco Franciosi, and many others, who will offer diverse culinary experiences focused on health and quality. In addition to the cuisines, there will also be opportunities to discuss topics such as producer responsibility, innovation, and territorial identity.
For the first time, Radio Punto Zero will broadcast daily from 7 to 9 pm from Villa Amendola with the format “Sobremesa – Il dopocena delle idee,” dedicated to interviews and insights.
The festival, sponsored by the Municipality of Avellino, will be open to the public from 7:00 PM to midnight, confirming its role as an important forum for dialogue and promotion of the local area through food culture.
