Beer lovers: the tenth edition of Beer Bubbles takes place in Palermo

In June, Palermo returns to toast with Beer Bubbles, the festival that for ten years has brought the culture of craft drinking to the heart of the city.

From June 11th to 14th, Piazza Politeama will host 24 breweries, over 200 beers for tasting, 10 food outlets, agri-food companies, spirits, cooking demonstrations, talks, and music, transforming the city into an urban experience of tastings, meetings, music, and new forms of conviviality.

Ten years of Beer Bubbles mean ten years of brewers, producers, territories, encounters, and friendships forged over a pint. But they also mean ten years of change: the way we drink has changed, the focus on quality has grown, the desire to know what's behind a craft product has grown, who makes it, where the raw materials come from, what stories and supply chains it brings with it.

"Reaching our tenth edition means looking back and seeing a journey built on people, relationships, and trust," says Maurilio Cassata, organizer of Beer Bubbles. "Beer Bubbles has grown along with its audience: ten years ago, we spoke primarily to craft beer enthusiasts, today we also appeal to a new generation who wants to learn, make better choices, and understand what they drink and eat."

Beer Bubble, an edition full of new features

IPA, Saison, Blanche, Weizen, Stout, Lager, Sour and many other styles will be the protagonists of a journey designed for both enthusiasts and those approaching the world of craft beer for the first time.

Among this year's new features, some breweries will be attending Beer Bubbles for the first time, bringing very different languages, identities, and production approaches to Palermo.

Aimara, from Subiaco, brings a story born in Lazio, merging classical styles, British influences, Belgian influences, and edgy experimentation. A company that has built its own path based on a strong connection to its local area and artisanal production.

Zona Mosto, from Rho, offers a contemporary take on beer: youthful, urban, and immediate. Its motto, "Crafting beers for modern drinkers," perfectly captures an approach that combines clean brewing, Anglo-Saxon influences, bottom-fermentation processes, and modern hopping.

Muttnik, from the Milanese hinterland, brings a recognizable and direct imagery to Palermo: simple, drinkable, immediate beers, with an ironic and free-spirited graphic and narrative identity.

Nama Brewing, based in Treviglio, focuses primarily on traditional German lagers and American-inspired hoppy beers, with a keen eye for water, raw materials, and a clean flavor. This presence perfectly captures a new generation of Italian breweries: technically advanced, knowledgeable, yet always designed for the enjoyment of drinking.

Two major returns will be present: Birrificio Lambrate and Jungle Juice Brewing. Lambrate, operating in Milan since 1996, is one of the historic and most recognizable Italian craft beer venues, with an identity deeply rooted in the Milanese craft beer scene. Jungle Juice Brewing, from Rome, returns to Beer Bubbles with its contemporary, creative, and direct approach, featuring bold hops, international influences, and a strong identity.

Alongside the breweries, the festival will also host opportunities for discussion and discussion. Talks and cooking demonstrations are scheduled, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Valledolmo, Cantieri Formativi 'Mursia', Idimed, and the Regional Union of Sicilian Chefs, to showcase the increasingly fertile relationship between craft beer, cuisine, agricultural products, and agri-food supply chains.

Music will play a central role with four different formats spread across the four days of the festival. It kicks off on Thursday with Limoni Sonori, opening the festival with a fresh and engaging sound. Friday continues with live music and a repertoire designed to retrace the songs that have made history: songs capable of crossing generations and still evolving today. Saturday features Palermo Sonora, the traveling format that is bringing music to the city's villas, historic gardens, and monumental spaces. Sunday features indie sounds with Tachipirina.

The event is sponsored by the Municipality of Palermo – Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sport, the Metropolitan City of Palermo, the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Mediterranean Fisheries, and CNA Palermo. The project is co-financed by the Sicilian Region – Department of Productive Activities, "Sicilia che piace" (People Like Sicily) initiative.
