Pamela

That’s right, another Big Squadra restaurant has landed in Berlin – and yes, it’s also Italian. It’s 80s Milan meets Berlin: Murano glass, mirrored ceilings, Italian glamour and enough mood lighting to make ordering a martini feel like the only sensible choice. The menu sticks to crudi, handmade pasta and Italian classics, with an extensive wine list and cocktails to match. Come for dinner, stay for la dolce vita.

hier

One thing’s for sure: vegetarians in Berlin are hardly suffering. hier is a new plant-based canteen making the weekday lunch grind a little more exciting, with seasonal, regional food that’s healthy without feeling like punishment. The menu changes weekly, with Brandenburg produce showing up in everything from asparagus potato salad and lentil stew to soups, salads and generously loaded slices of bread.

Théodor Brasserie

The former Mommsen-Eck has had a very French glow-up by Yoram Roth and Berlin Hospitality Group. Moules frites, bouillabaisse and Chateaubriand, all served in an art-nouveau-ish dining room with a suitably French wine list – magnifique. Basically, all the good bits of a Parisian brasserie, minus the trip to BER Airport.

File Asto (Prenzlauer Berg)

It’s exactly what you want Greek food to be: no frills, just flavour. Think graviera, creamy dips, souvlaki and all the things you actually want to eat when a Grecian craving hits. The space feels like your yaya’s house if she had hired an interior designer. There’s no unnecessary reinvention here, just proper tastes, good wine and the kind of food that disappears quickly.

  • Kollwitzstraße 26, Prenzlauer Berg, details

Chuàn Shāo

This Chinese skewer restaurant comes from the owner of You Mi, a favourite among Berlin’s Chinese food lovers. Specialising in shāo kăo barbecue skewers, it serves meats, tofu, mushrooms and vegetables seasoned with cumin, chilli and garlic. Designed for sharing and often paired with cold beer, it offers a casual dining experience with plenty of vegan options.

Moment Berlin

Offering modern dining with a stylish interior right beside the Hauptbahnhof, Moment Berlin works perfectly for business settings. Their menu combines high-quality Japanese and Italian influences with convenient lunch deals. Who knew sushi and a handcrafted Italian touch went so well together?

Fukagawa Berlin

After building a loyal following with two ramen restaurants, the team behind Fukagawa is taking it one step further. Their new fine dining concept draws on the foundations of Japanese culture while embracing French techniques. Familiar ramen broths, seasonings and textures remain at the core, reinterpreted through a refined, multi-course menu.

The Smokehouse Bar & BBQ

Boxi’s smoking new spot focuses on high-quality cuts and a sharing-style concept. Its BBQ tapas includes pulled pork, wagyu brisket tataki, ribs and the supreme cut – a 1kg tomahawk steak no person can take on alone. With house-made BBQ sauce and a clean, modern space, it’s a solid addition to a fired-up neighbourhood.
