Miami has long been known for excellent Cuban coffee, but the city’s specialty coffee scene took a little longer to find its footing.

Where to Drink Really Good Coffee In Miami

These days, the Magic City boasts an ever-growing collection of standout coffeehouses serving expertly pulled espresso, silky flat whites, and inventive signature drinks, along with plenty of pastries and satisfying dishes to match. Here are the best coffee shops in Miami right now.

Neverland Coffee Bar

A touch of whimsy never hurts, particularly while getting caffeine for the day. Whether cooling off with award-winning iced coffee or opting for the fan-favorite hot golden coffee made with espresso, almond or coconut milk, turmeric, cinnamon, coconut oil, ghee, brown sugar, and condensed milk, the charming outdoor space begs for lingering and conversation, and its “everlasting brunch” menu covers egg dishes, salads, burgers, and more.

Alaska Coffee Roasting Co. This Fairbanks-born coffee roaster has been fueling North Miami with expertly brewed coffee since bringing its longtime roasting tradition south.

Don’t miss the signature Toddy, a cardamom-vanilla cold brew, and stick around for wood-fired pizzas, breakfast quesadillas, sandwiches, salads, and house-made pastries.

Surry Hills Coffee

Named after the trendy Sydney neighborhood, this Australian cafe — whose founders first brought the concept to Argentina before expanding to Miami — serves a reliable flat white alongside a menu of all-day breakfast and brunch favorites.

With plenty of seating, strong Wi-Fi, and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s a favorite spot for settling in with a laptop.

Fincas Coffee

This Upper Buena Vista cafe is run by third-generation Honduran coffee farmers who oversee every step of the process, from growing and roasting to brewing. Coffee enthusiasts can choose from a range of brewing methods — including Chemex, Clever, V60, and siphon — or opt for signature drinks like the aromatic cardamom brew or Bulletproof coffee.

Baker And Barista

As its name implies, this Buena Vista women-owned spot serves fresh bread paired with expertly made coffee.

Whether you order the matcha latte, espresso frappe, or traditional cappuccino, be sure to pair it with a sourdough cinnamon roll.

Suite Habana Cafe

This Wynwood shop serves Cuban coffee alongside empanadas, croquetas, and other sweet and savory bites. The cozy space is designed to evoke a traditional Cuban paladar — a small, family-run restaurant operated out of a private home — with vintage-inspired décor, colorful Cuban tiles, and comfortable seating that encourages lingering over another cafecíto.

Panther Coffee

As Miami’s most influential specialty coffee roaster, Panther Coffee is widely credited with helping usher in South Florida’s third-wave coffee movement.

Its original Wynwood outpost remains a favorite gathering place for artists, entrepreneurs, and neighborhood regulars, all drawn by expertly roasted beans and consistently excellent espresso drinks.

Vice City Bean

This laid-back local favorite features a multi-roaster coffee program, rotating pastries, and one of Miami’s most refreshing coffee drinks. The Spro + Tonic combines espresso, tonic water, vanilla, and orange into a bright, citrusy pick-me-up made for South Florida’s heat.

Tinta y Café

Equal parts Cuban coffeehouse and neighborhood gathering place, Tinta y Café has earned a loyal following for its expertly prepared cafecítos, oversized croquetas, and outstanding Cuban sandwiches.

Both locations — one in Coral Gables and the other in Miami Shores — draw regulars for El Pecado (“the sin”), an indulgent coffee drink made with condensed milk, evaporated milk, and sugar.

Café Demetrio

Husband and wife Demetrio and Vilma Pina provide a welcoming space for all at the shop that calls itself “Coral Gables’ first coffeehouse.” Whether it’s a cinnamon toast latte, dark cacao latte, white mocha, or the True Baristas (a blend of caramel and chocolate latte topped with whipped cream), there’s a coffee for everyone. As an added bonus, there is also a very solid breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu.

Grou Coffee

This Coral Gables coffeehouse is a favorite among locals for its large variety of drinks, everything from orange espresso and a café bombón (a double shot of espresso layered with condensed milk) to a Nutella cappuccino.

There’s even a Babyccino so young coffee companions can sip alongside the grown-ups.

Emissary

This Washington, D.C., import has quickly become one of Coconut Grove’s go-to coffeehouses, pouring expertly crafted Counter Culture coffee, along with seasonal specialty drinks and classic espresso beverages.

Come hungry: Breakfast sandwiches, fresh salads, and pastries from Flour & Weirdoughs make it just as appealing for a leisurely morning meal as a quick caffeine fix. A curated beer and wine list and regular cycling events give the café even more neighborhood appeal.

Brewing Buddha Cafe & Arthouse

The eclectic space owned by brothers Jordan and Cassidy Athos is part coffee shop, part art gallery.

It has everything from swag like coffee body scrub and backpacks to creative coffee drinks like banana bread lattes and cookies ‘n cream cold brew.

Façade Bakery

This Coral Gables newcomer draws crowds seeking strong coffee paired with French pastries.

With unique offerings like the cruffin with starfruit compote to corn milk and cinnamon served “dirty” with a shot of espresso, it’s no surprise finding seating can become an issue. Luckily, takeout becomes a handy alternative.
