The Tullum DOCG Consortium will be the protagonist of the Tollo Wine Festival, a food and wine event dedicated to the local wines, scheduled for Friday, July 19th, in the main streets of the historic center of Tollo (Chieti). This first edition of the event will offer wine enthusiasts an opportunity to discover and learn more about the wines of the Tollo area and the Tullum DOCG, one of Italy's smallest designations of origin.

The event will officially open at 6:00 PM with a conference in Piazza Caduti di Nassirya titled "Evolution of Wine Markets and Climate Change." Speakers will include Angelo Radica, Mayor of Tollo and President of the Città del Vino Association; Alessandro Nicodemi, President of the Consorzio Tutela Vini d'Abruzzo; Gianni Pasquale, President of Assoenologi Abruzzo-Molise; agronomist Maurizio Odoardi; and Ombretta Mercurio, Vice President of the Order of Agronomists.

Starting at 7:30 pm, the tasting tables will open, where participants can sample various labels from wineries operating within the Municipality of Tollo, Cantina Tollo, Feudo Antico, Vigneti Radica, and Società Cooperativa Agricola Coltivatori Diretti Tollo, as well as Tullum DOCG wines in the dedicated area. Food stands will offer delicious selections of pairings. At 7:30 pm, journalist Adua Villa will host a wine show dedicated exclusively to Tullum DOCG, a journey to discover the typical expressions of the appellation, where Montepulciano, Passerina, and Pecorino have found their ideal home.

"The idea for the Tollo Wine Festival was born from the desire to celebrate our winemaking heritage and promote the excellence of our region," says Pantaleone Verna, President of the Tullum DOCG Consortium. "With this event, we want to raise awareness of our appellation, a magical place suspended between the Adriatic Sea and the Majella Mountains, where unique wines have been produced for centuries, as evidenced by the remains of the villa rustica and the Roman-era dolia discovered in the San Pietro area."

The evening will be further enhanced by a performance by The Palmina's, who will play the best of '50s and '60s music, and a DJ set by Gianluca Galeazzo, creating an engaging and festive atmosphere that combines wine, food, and music in a unique experience.
