Experts say Ciliegiolo is destined for great success. For years, its grape variety was considered one of the "minor" varieties, but today, in Maremma, it already accounts for 3.4% of the most widely planted varieties. This recognition is due to its natural vigor, its resistance to heat and dry climates, which allow it to be produced as a single varietal and vinified as a white wine for rosé. In short, it seems poised to become an absolute Tuscan excellence.

Among the winemakers who have believed in Ciliegiolo, we find one of the Tuscan companies that, for over sixty years, has produced high-quality labels and exported them worldwide: Fattoria Mantellassi, in Magliano in Toscana, which has always worked with great professionalism and expertise.

And among their wines, Maestrale stands out, an extraordinary Ciliegiolo that is easy to drink and features a ruby red color with purple highlights. Intensely fruity, it smells of freshly picked rose petals and has a captivating aroma, with youthful tannic notes that lend an extraordinary freshness to the palate. Full-bodied and enveloping, it manages to maintain the clarity of the fruit in the aftertaste.

A wine that pairs beautifully with summer meals, pairing it with typical seasonal dishes, from appetizers to pasta and rice salads, fish recipes, and even Tuscany's most famous dish, the fantastic cacciucco.

Its name, Maestrale, reveals its connection to the area. It refers to the distinctive northwest wind that blows through Maremma, a powerful aid for the development of the vines and the ripening of the grapes.

Maestrale is now a successful wine from Fattoria Mantellassi and even won the label award at the 2022 edition of “Rosa, rosati, rosè.” For this wine, label and name form an exemplary combination, through that image of the “compass rose” that perfectly identifies it.

Like all Fattoria Mantellassi wines, Ciliegiolo Maestrale is a generous wine, extraordinary for its high quality, the result of the constant attention the company dedicates to the process from vineyard to bottle.

Passion, expertise, and experience, but also heart, the heart that Aleardo and Giuseppe Mantellassi, the company's owners, have always put into their winemaking.
