New openings in January 2026 in Milan: new restaurants, trattorias, and pizzerias
We've said it: traditional restaurants are disappearing, like Pasolini's fireflies. And the new openings confirm it every month. Street food of all kinds is booming, ethnic restaurants are multiplying, pizzerias are popping up.
Ate Obanzai Bar – Street Food – Porta Genova
Perfect for those who are curious and want to discover new foods in a casual setting. They present themselves as a small bar seating ten, offering obanzai and sake. We're experts on the latter; as for obanzai, it's homestyle Kyoto fare. An example? The taro fritters (satoimo), topped with aonori seaweed. Another? The Tako Wasa, made with freshly chopped wasabi and yuzu. And then there's the Wagyu beef shigureni with baguette.

Giza – Street Food – Ticinese
The slogan is "authentic Egyptian sandwich." The founder is Ahmed Dawood, a mustachioed Egyptian who seems to know his stuff, having arrived in Italy in January 2024 after studying at the Milanese culinary school Istituto Congusto. Sandwiches include Alexandrian liver (€7.50), beef sausage, fried shrimp (€10), moussaka, and beef and onion sandwiches (the Hawawshi, €6.50). Carefully designed, very active social media: the goal is to create a place with an international clientele, different from the "usual" Egyptian ones. Open from 11:00 am to 1:00 am.
Corso di Porta Ticinese 67. Tel 344 632 8730.
Langosteria Ally's Bar – Downtown
It opened on Via Montenapoleone, inside Palazzo Fendi. Need I say more? Let's just say it's a cocktail bar, a spin-off of the famous Langosterie, luxurious food temples beloved by wealthy foreigners. The price of a drink? Between 20 and 25 euros.
Via Matteotti 9, tel 02 7601 8167.
Robata Kan – Porta Venezia
This is a "robatayaki izakaya," a type of Japanese barbecue, which promises to be very interesting. It was developed by a large Japanese group, Zekkocho, which has fifteen restaurants in Tokyo. Robata menu costs 75 euros, Omakase menu 110 euros. We'll talk about it in more detail soon.

Brewfist Pub Milan – Conchetta
A joint project between the craft brewery Brewfist and the agency "idea. food & beverage lab." It opened on December 11th, just a few meters from Frizzi e Lazzi, Il Brutto Anatroccolo, Nebbia Ristorante, the Apollo club, and the Navigli area. The menu includes Conchette (sandwiches from the Conchetta neighborhood), Alzaie (pinsa, a tribute to the towpaths of the Navigli) made with highly digestible dough, and Pugnette, small sandwiches with a tongue-in-cheek name inspired by the brewery's name (Brewfist Pub). The beers are from the Codogno craft brewery Brewfist, including the new one with a slightly aggressive name: "Ca**o Guardi," located at Via Trolio 14.
