Bar Vint-i-quatre, the new one from Carles Abellan

As a gastronomic consultant, and with a nod to Tapas24, which Carles Abellan launched in 2006, Vint-i-quatre is based on traditional cuisine "but with a contemporary and signature touch," the hallmark of the Catalan chef's brand. "It's the kind of restaurant I'd love to go to but can't find in Barcelona."

Located between Tuset and Diagonal, in Barcelona's Eixample district, the menu includes everything from hearty breakfasts featuring Calaf eggs, toast or tortilla skewers, to dishes such as tomato tartare, braised eggplant with miso, macaroni with fricandó fricassee, hake Roman style, escalivada with sardine or creamy vanilla flan.

It also features a cocktail menu with classics and signature options created by Javier de las Muelas of Dry Martini, and snack options throughout the day such as gilda, a selection of preserves, or their renowned bikini and Russian salad.

The wine cellar features proprietary wines, specially made for the restaurant, and offers a very wide selection of wines by the glass.
