Sage syrup & alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails

Sage syrup & alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails

Ingredientes · Raciones Add 1 teaspoon syrup and 1 tablespoon alcohol and nealco cocktail
  • 1 liter of water
  • 2 handfuls sage
  • 1 piece lemon
  • 1 kg caster sugar
  • 1 tbsp citric acid
  • 15 ml sugar syrup
  • 50 ml tequila
  • 25 ml lime juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 slice of lime
  • 2 pcs strawberries
  • 20 ml sugar syrup
  • 20 ml lemon juice
  • 1 sprig sage
Método · 20 min
  1. Put the sage and lemon slices in a pot of boiled water and let it steep for 24 hours, covered with a lid. Strain through a cheesecloth and squeeze. Sprinkle with sugar and citric acid and let it dissolve.
  2. Pour ice into the blender, add tequila syrup, lime juice, add a pinch of salt and blend everything. Serve garnished with a lime slice or lime zest. SOMETHING EXTRA “If you don’t have a blender, simply put all the ingredients in a shaker or mason jar, add ice, close the lid and shake,” advises bartender Josef Kolena.
  3. Cut the strawberries, pour into a glass and mash. Add the syrup, ice and top up with soda. Garnish with a strawberry and a sprig of sage. SOMETHING EXTRA You can easily vary the non-alcoholic version - add tonic instead of soda, for the alcoholic version you can also reach for bubbles - cava prosecco or other sparkling wine will taste great.

Sage – an herb and spice in one, its name comes from the Latin word salvare, which means to heal. It is said to be a natural antibiotic. It has anti-inflammatory effects, helps with the flu, eliminates digestive problems and has a good effect on the psyche. Whether you put the syrup in a cocktail or tea, it will definitely do you good. But don't drink sage for a long time! For inspiration, we have mixed two cocktails for you – an alcoholic Tommys Margarita made from tequila, orange liqueur and lime juice and a non-alcoholic sage-strawberry lemonade
