MasterChef Australia fave opens restaurant at Crown Perth

MasterChef Australia favourite Matt Sinclair has opened his acclaimed Sunshine Coast restaurant Sum Yung Guys in Perth for a limited time this spring.
The six-week pop-up restaurant has taken up residency in the former Bistro Guillaume space at Crown Perth where guests can expect its signature south east Asian cuisine.
Guests at the opening included Chaise and Murray McHenry, Jenny Lam of Saigon Story, and Emily Taylor and Rob Cole who experienced a selection of the restaurant’s signature dishes, from Shark Bay prawn toast and WA scallops to ‘Crying Tiger’ short rib and Southern Thai yellow curry.
Sinclair was the runner-up of MasterChef Australia season eight in 2016.
Following his post-show success, he launched SYG, which earned him a Chef’s Hat, and the 10 Piece Cutlery food truck at Brisbane’s Eat Street Markets.
