Restaurant “Ibiza Essence” opens on Frankfurter Straße in Gießen

Giessen. Said Saban Alazami recently opened his own restaurant, "Ibiza Essence," at Frankfurter Straße 84. The chef brings several years of experience from the Ibiza restaurant scene and focuses on Mediterranean cuisine with a Spanish emphasis in Giessen. In addition to classic tapas, the menu also features modern interpretations of fish and meat dishes.
Experiences from the gastronomy sector in Ibiza
Alazami worked on Ibiza at places like Agroturismo Atzaró and Es Caliu. He also says he cooked privately for well-known personalities from the entertainment and sports worlds. The experiences from this time now shape the concept of his restaurant in Giessen.
Alazami initially came to Giessen for a different gastronomic project. He was to take over and revamp the kitchen of a Spanish restaurant. However, the desire for his own business had been with him for some time. With "Ibiza Essence," he finally realized this dream on Frankfurter Straße.
Alazami was also involved in the restaurant's design. He developed the furnishings and design details together with his wife. The restaurant combines a modern design with elements that evoke a Mediterranean atmosphere.
Tapas and modern interpretations of dishes
The menu features classic Spanish tapas such as patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, and homemade "croquetas de la Abuela." In addition, the kitchen offers dishes such as sea bass with roasted cauliflower and black garlic aioli, as well as pluma (pork tenderloin) made from Iberian pork with seasonal vegetables.
Veal fillet with a modern take on patatas bravas is also on the menu. Dessert options include crema catalana and pistachio coulis.
The wine selection also has a Spanish influence. Among others, Rioja Joven, Rioja Crianza and Rioja Reserva, as well as Ribera del Duero Roble and Crianza are offered. In addition, there are white and rosé wines such as Rioja Blanco, Rioja Rosé and Marqués de Vizhoja Blanco.
