Kauss at Terra Madre 2026: Monviso's farm beer arrives in the heart of Turin

From September 24th to 27th, the Piasco farm brewery will be in Piazzetta Reale. The stand will also offer vouchers to visit the brewery and the new Brewing Passport to stamp during the tours.

From field to glass, passing through Terra Madre. Birrificio Agricolo Kauss will be among the Piedmontese protagonists of Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2026, taking place in the center of Turin from September 24th to 27th. The Piasco-based company, located in the Varaita Valley, will be present in Piazzetta Reale, in the area that brings together Piedmont's agricultural businesses and food excellence. It will be an opportunity to learn about Kauss beers, meet the producers directly, and learn more about a brewing project born from agriculture and its connection to the territory at the foot of Monviso. But the stand will also feature a unique innovation: a passport for those who want to discover Piedmont's agricultural beers.

Kauss, a farm brewery at the foot of Monviso

Kauss was founded in Piasco, in the province of Cuneo, where the plains meet the valleys of Monviso. Its identity is that of a true farm brewery: the barley and hops are grown directly on the land and then transformed into beers that maintain a recognizable connection to their origins.

The project is based on the idea that a beer can tell much more than its style. Behind every glass are the fields, the seasons, the varieties grown, the agricultural labor, and the people involved in the supply chain.

During Terra Madre, Kauss will bring this vision to Turin along with his own farm-to-table beers, explaining to the public all the stages that precede production: from the cultivation of grains and hops to malting, through to brewing, fermentation, and packaging.

The Kauss stand will be located in Piazzetta Reale, between Piazza Castello and the Royal Palace, in front of the entrance to the Royal Museums. The area will be dedicated to Piedmontese agri-food companies and will be one of the most interesting stops at the event for those interested in learning about typical products, local supply chains, and producers from various parts of the region.

For Kauss, this will be an opportunity to bring the story of the Varaita Valley and its agricultural supply chain to the center of Turin.

Among the new products presented at Terra Madre will be the Piedmont Beer Passport, created by the Consorzio Birra Origine Piemonte – BOP, of which Kauss is a founding company.

The passport will contain information and curiosities about the regional brewing industry, from the cultivation of barley and hops to the processing of raw materials and the production of beer.

The most interesting part, however, will be its concrete use.

The document can be collected at Terra Madre, but the stamps will not be affixed to the stands at the event.

To win them over, you will need to participate in the guided tours organized at the locations of the farm breweries participating in BOP.

Each visit will therefore allow you to add a stamp and a new stop on your journey through the agricultural beers of Piedmont.

A visit to the Kauss Agricultural Brewery will also allow you to obtain the relevant stamp on your Brewing Passport.

Kauss and the Birra Origine Piemonte Consortium

The BOP Consortium brings together farmers and breweries committed to developing and promoting a Piedmontese beer supply chain. The project promotes the use of raw materials grown and processed in Piedmont, production traceability, and collaboration between farmers, maltsters, and breweries. Kauss, as a founding member of the Consortium, actively participates in this development process.
