Navarra wines are celebrating.
Navarra wines are celebrating. The Señorío de Sarría winery, part of the BORNOS Vinos & Licores wine group, has been awarded three gold medals and the “Best of Show Spain – Rosé” prize at the 39th MUNDUS VINI Summer Tasting competition, held in Germany.
Señorío de Sarría Viñedo Cinco, produced by the Navarrese winery, has received a Gold Medal and the special recognition 'Best of Show Spain – Rosé', which distinguishes the best valued Spanish rosé in the competition.
The award was given after a blind tasting in which a jury of 120 international experts evaluated 2,830 wines from 40 countries, placing Viñedo Cinco 2025 among the best-rated wines of this edition.
The award represents recognition for one of Señorío de Sarría's most special wines, made from Garnacha grapes from the estate's 70-year-old vines.
The secret of Viñedo Cinco: Garnacha from old vines and teardrop extraction
Señorío de Sarría Viñedo Cinco 2025 is made from a selection of Garnacha grapes from old vines, grown on the Señorío de Sarría estate in Puente la Reina. The must is obtained using the traditional free-run juice method, which allows the extraction of the free-run juice without applying mechanical pressure to the grape bunches.
The wine displays an attractive raspberry-red color in the glass. On the nose, it offers good aromatic intensity, with prominent notes of forest fruits such as currants, raspberries, and strawberries, accompanied by floral hints of violet and subtle dairy nuances. On the palate, it is fresh, flavorful, and luscious, with a pronounced presence of red fruits and hints of forest fruit yogurt. Its finish is ample and persistent, with a fruity and balanced profile.
Three Gold Medals for the winery
The recognition of Viñedo Cinco 2025 adds to the good results obtained by two other references from Señorío de Sarría in this edition of MUNDUS VINI.
Señorío de Sarría Rosado 2025 has also won a Gold Medal, consolidating the winery's good result in the rosé wine category.
For its part, Señorío de Sarría Reserva 2019 has also received a Gold Medal. This recognition marks its sixth award this year, further solidifying a particularly outstanding track record for this Navarrese reserve wine.
