Félix Solís Avantis wins the award for best Spanish producer at AWC Vienna for the third year in a row
The winery group wins four gold medals in a competition that evaluated nearly 10,000 wines from 41 countries.
Félix Solís Avantis has won the Best National Producer of Spain award for the third consecutive year at the AWC Vienna – International Wine Challenge, one of the world's largest wine competitions. This award recognizes the producer who achieves the best results among participants from each country.
The scale of the competition helps to put the result into context. In its latest edition, AWC Vienna evaluated 9,952 wines from 41 countries, with a jury of 304 experts from 21 nationalities, including winemakers, sommeliers, wine analysts, gastronomy professionals, and specialized journalists.
The wines are subjected to blind tasting in individual booths, using an international rating system out of 100 points. The tasters are unaware of the identity of the samples during the evaluation.
Twenty references exceed 90 points
The Best National Producer award comes alongside a string of accolades for Félix Solís Avantis's wines. The official AWC Vienna website lists 20 of the group's wines with 90 points or more, all of which have been awarded Gold medals.
Among the most outstanding results are El Maestro Selección, with 93.2 points; Mucho Más Gold, with 92.3; Arnegui Gran Reserva, with 92.1; and Arnegui Viento Norte, with 91.8. These are the four highest-scoring wines from Félix Solís Avantis in this edition.
“Receiving this recognition for the third year in a row is a source of immense pride for everyone at Félix Solís Avantis. It is the result of the work that begins in our vineyards and continues every day in our wineries,” said Félix Solís Ramos, the company’s Commercial and Marketing Director.
The result also comes at a time of growth and expansion for the company, which has a presence in various Spanish wine-growing regions and maintains a strong focus on international markets.
The company, founded in 1952 and headquartered in Valdepeñas, owns wineries in Valdepeñas and La Mancha, as well as projects under the Pagos del Rey brand in Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Rueda, and Toro. Its wines are available in more than 135 countries through a network of 11 international subsidiaries.
In recent weeks, Félix Solís has also strengthened its position in La Rioja with the acquisition of the historic brands Federico Paternina, Lagunilla, and Rioja Santiago, which join a portfolio that already includes names like Castillo de Albai and Arnegui. This acquisition expands its presence in the Rioja DOCa and adds three names with a long history within the appellation.
