Tast a la Rambla 2026: 152,000 bites of the best of Barcelona

Tast a la Rambla 2026: 152,000 bites of the best of Barcelona

During its twelfth edition, which concludes this Sunday, May 31, Tast a la Rambla reinforces its commitment to the quality of its culinary offerings, thanks to the positive response from the people of Barcelona who, despite the heat, didn't hesitate to visit the city center to enjoy the best cuisine Barcelona has to offer.

Plaça Catalunya has once again been transformed—for the last year, as in 2027, once the renovations on La Rambla are complete, the fair will return to its usual location—into the city's largest and most attractive open-air kitchen. With the participation of 30 restaurants and 6 leading Barcelona pastry shops, Tast a la Rambla has successfully attracted both local and international visitors to this unique gastronomic celebration, which drew 400,000 people. These figures reflect the success of the last edition and have been very positively received by Àlex Balletbó, president of Amics de La Rambla, who wanted to "thank the city for the trust placed in the event" and expressed his satisfaction in announcing that "next year we look forward to seeing you all again at home, on La Rambla."

Among all the culinary offerings presented this year, the one that most captivated the public was Dani García's personal interpretation of the hamburger at his restaurant Leña Barcelona: "The burger that gave meaning to everything," which became the best-selling tapa at this 12th edition of Tast a la Rambla. It was followed by the offerings from La Mafia Mexicana and Família Nuri, which took second and third place, respectively. The Mexican restaurant participated with its Quesabirria, while Família Nuri once again opted for one of its rice dishes, this time a chicken and prawn rice with citrus mayonnaise.

Beyond the podium, the quality of the culinary offerings, both sweet and savory, has been one of the highlights of this edition. This quality aligns with the commitment to excellence, sustainability, and locally sourced products that defines the event's philosophy. This commitment was also reflected in the presence of 13 Michelin stars and 18 Repsol Suns among the participating establishments.

Tast a la Rambla, much more than tapas

After four intense days, from May 28 to 31, the excellent reception of the 12th Barcelona Gastronomic Week—organized by Amics de La Rambla and grup gsr—confirms that the public values a high-quality event that brings the city's haute cuisine closer to home and promotes it. Proof of this lies not only in the high number of tastings sold, but also in the large turnout for the numerous parallel activities organized as part of the event.

The activities, which were fully booked every day, included master workshops, showcookings and tastings of wines, cavas and other gastronomic products, allowing attendees to learn live from some of the most relevant names in the national gastronomic scene, such as Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch and Nil Dulcet (Disfrutar***), Fran Agudo (MontBar**), Jordi Artal (Cinc Sentits**), Albert Raurich (Dos Palillos*), Ferran Centelles (sommelier of elBulli Foundation) or Rafa Zafra (Estimar).

In total, more than thirty activities have been held, allowing participants to discover, among other things, the diversity of Catalan wine with INCAVI; the volcanic cuisine of Lanzarote through Saborea Lanzarote; some of the most representative recipes of Castilla-La Mancha with Raíz Culinaria; the mountain products of Andorra, Gastronomía de Alta Montaña; and the world of bluefin tuna thanks to Balfegó.

The Tast a la Rambla experience has transcended the purely gastronomic sphere to become a true celebration of Barcelona for Barcelonans, in which gastronomy has coexisted with various live music performances that have enlivened the four days of the festival.
