Porto Coffee Week transforms Porto into the coffee capital
Porto is preparing to once again host Porto Coffee Week, the country's largest coffee festival, returning for its 4th edition between September 29th and October 5th.
The opening will take place in a relaxed atmosphere on the 29th, with a Bingo Kick-off Party at Comum Coffee Shop. Free entry (reservations required), this event brings together experts, professionals and curious onlookers in a gathering that proves that coffee can also be synonymous with celebration.
Workshops, competition and creativity in a cup.
On October 1st — International Coffee Day — Porto Coffee Week is dedicated to the art of latte making. In the morning, abcoffee Coffee School will host an introductory workshop, teaching the perfect technique for cappuccinos and lattes. In the afternoon, those more curious can try complex patterns in more advanced versions. Tickets can be purchased online.
The evening promises excitement with the famous Latte Art Throwdown. Sixteen baristas take to the stage at Garcia & Marquez – Coffee Stories to showcase creativity and consistency in every cup, in a thrilling head-to-head competition.
Sustainability and a market of experiences
From October 3rd to 5th, the Porto Customs House will host the Coffee Market, the heart of Porto Coffee Week. In addition to unlimited tastings of specialty coffees (with the official cup included in the ticket), the program includes debates, sessions, and roundtables on sustainability, blends, and the future of the sector.
The highlight? The 2025 National Barista Championship, which will take place on October 4th. For 15 minutes, each participant will have to serve perfect espressos, milk-based or plant-based drinks, and even an original non-alcoholic signature cocktail. The winner will represent Portugal at the World Barista Championship in Milan in October.
