Japanese chef Aoki is Santarosa's global ambassador; Massari and Bartolini are among the stars of the Santarosa Pastry Cup 26

Thirteen editions have seen the event grow and its ability to attract great masters, professionals, and young talents, increasingly opening up to an international dimension.

Marking this path this year is Sadaharu Aoki from Japan, one of the most established masters of international pastry making, who will be awarded the title of new “Santarosa Ambassador to the World”.

The jury will once again be presided over by Maestro dei Maestri Iginio Massari, joined by leading figures in the pastry and gastronomy worlds. Among those already announced is Enrico Bartolini, a three-Michelin-star chef and the most starred chef in Italy (14 in total).

But the heart of the 13th edition will once again be young talent. Competing for the title will be students from the schools: In Cibum, Dolce & Salato, CAST Alimenti, Congusto Institute, and Pino Ladisa Academy, five leading institutions in Italian higher education.

“SFOGLIATELLA WITHOUT BORDERS”

This is the theme chosen for the 13th edition.

A title that also stems from the recent inscription of Italian Cuisine on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and which views tradition not as something immobile, but as a living substance, capable of growing through encounters, exchanges, and contaminations.

A reflection that finds its natural interpreter in Santarosa: a dessert born in Conca dei Marini, deeply rooted in its identity and, at the same time, capable of transcending time and opening itself to new interpretations.

This will be the guiding theme of the competition on September 25th, when young pastry chefs will be asked to present their own ideas for a “Sfogliatella without Borders.”

The event will kick off on Thursday, September 24th in Conca dei Marini, with a Welcome Evening in the Church of Santa Rosa, the symbolic place of the dessert's origins.

On Friday, September 25th, the Santarosa Pastry Cup will get underway at the Campus Principe di Napoli in Agerola, with a competition between the five schools.

For now, only a few of the cast members have been revealed. The judges and contestants who will complete the 13th season's cast will be announced in the next press release.

And this time there will be no boundaries!
