Baños de cerveza, masajes y sauna: el concepto español de spa de cerveza elige Oporto para entrar en Portugal

The brand, founded in Spain, has opened its first Beer Spa in Portugal; the idea is to expand the concept to other regions of the country.
The concept may seem unusual, but it's already well-established in several European markets: after all, if it already exists for wine, why not for beer too? Beer Spa is a Spanish brand specializing in "wellness experiences inspired by the ingredients used in beer production" that has just arrived in Porto.
The Portuguese debut takes place on Rua de Santa Catarina, with a space that aims to "differentiate itself from the traditional offerings of spas" through a combination of "thermal baths, sauna, massages and relaxation treatments that use ingredients such as malt, hops and yeast". The concept is inspired by countries with a "strong brewing tradition, such as the Czech Republic".
With an area of four hundred square meters, the Beer Spa Porto has a "common room with capacity for fourteen people, two private rooms and three treatment rooms". The offer also includes "circuits with jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation areas", as well as the possibility of having "massages and facial treatments".
Prices start at 65 euros per person for basic tours and can exceed 100 euros for packages that include massages. There are also "private experiences for two people, with exclusive access to the facilities and programs designed for couples."
In addition to the baths (which also include cinnamon), visitors can drink San Miguel beers, an official partner of the brand, and sample "different artisanal appetizers," such as a beer jam produced by the Beer Spa itself. Another option is to buy cosmetic products (shampoo, shower gel, creams, and body oils) developed from beer ingredients, such as barley and hops.
After its debut in Porto, the plans involve expanding nationwide: "We would like to bring the Beer Spa experience to other regions of the country to bring this concept closer to an ever-increasing number of people," says the founder, Juan Sánchez. The Porto store is open Monday to Friday from 10:30 am to 8 pm; Saturdays from 10 am to 8 pm; and Sundays from 10:30 am to 7 pm. Bookings can be made through the Spalopia platform.
