Lavazza presenta 1895 Coffee Designers, su nueva gama de cafés especiales

Con Madrid Fusión como escenario excepcional, Lavazza presentó 1895 Coffee Designers, su nueva gama de cafés especiales.

With Madrid Fusión as its exceptional setting, Lavazza presented 1895 Coffee Designers, its new range of specialty coffee. The Italian company's new premium line is designed to meet the demands of five-star hotels and the finest restaurants, which is why the presentation featured a star guest: chef Albert Adrià.

Toni Salort, sales manager for the Iberia region, stated that “this collection represents our commitment to the highest quality and innovation, offering professionals an exceptional tool to elevate the entire dining experience.” The new range is designed to ensure that even the finest menus in the world conclude with a coffee that matches the quality of the food.

1895 Coffee Designers combines passion, craftsmanship, and technology to delight all the consumer's senses. The new coffees are conceived at Factory 1895, the company's headquarters, designed by Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), the American studio also responsible for the Lavazza Museum, which opened in the Italian city in 2018.

The space combines the artisanal approach of a century-old brand with more industrial innovation. The production process begins with a careful selection of beans using an optical sorter and continues with the best roasters, which process from a minimum of 12 kg to a maximum of 120 kg of coffee per cycle.

Exploring the flavor

The new range is the result of intensive research by taste explorers: professionals who visit different parts of the world, the best coffee-growing regions, to identify the beans that have resulted in these new flavors. Among the criteria considered for bean selection are quality, growing region, altitude, and seasonality.

Factory 1895 offers the opportunity to delve into the brand's production processes. These visits introduce the role of the coffelier, a guide who connects visitors with the creation process, roasting methods, and extraction techniques. Additionally, guided tastings can be scheduled in the Coffee Cave, an area designed for coffee enjoyment and learning.

The new collection: a world of aromas

Professionals who venture into the world of 1895 Coffee Designers will have access to a fantastic tool for interpreting the aromatic characteristics of coffees: the 1895 Flavor Wheel. This classification system divides aromas into six easily identifiable areas using icons on a flavor wheel.

The new collection includes three specialty blends, three single origins, and one microlot. The specialty blends are crafted by individually roasting and then blending different coffee origins to highlight the best flavors in every cup. They are Cocoa Reloaded, Petal Storm, and Noble Volcano, shining examples of the biodiversity of the world's leading coffee-growing regions.

Single Origin coffees, on the other hand, come from individual farms or cooperatives of small producers, also located in coffee-growing regions. Finally, microlots are coffees from carefully selected plots and produced in very limited quantities (less than 300 kg). The green coffee is transported in vacuum-sealed boxes to best preserve its condition. This is the crown jewel of Lavazza: truly exceptional coffees created under the highest quality standards.

The Adrià brothers, exceptional ambassadors

The presentation at Madrid Fusion was held with the support of Albert Adrià, chef of the multi-award-winning restaurant Enigma. Both he and his brother Ferran use the Lavazza range in their establishments, confirming the collection's high quality standards.

“We’ve moved beyond the idea of a single espresso as the automatic end to the menu and have incorporated a true coffee menu, allowing the customer to choose how they want to conclude their experience,” the chef stated. “Coffee demands more dedication in service, and that’s precisely where we believe its value lies: in the time, care, and attention given to it until the very last moment,” he concluded.

The new coffees have complex, balanced, and distinctive profiles, characteristics that satisfy the expectations of even the most discerning diners and professionals. The collection is distributed directly through specialized channels, guaranteeing personalized service tailored to the specific needs of each establishment.
