The event will open to the public on Sunday, September 27, at 5:00 PM, with tastings until 10:00 PM. PALAZZO PATERNÒ A historic residence in the heart of Caserta Palazzo Paternò, an 18th-century residence located in the heart of Caserta, is the venue for the third edition of Il Vino CE. Built between 1765 and 1775 and designed by architect Gaetano Barba, the palace represents one of the most significant examples of noble architecture of the period, distinguished by its sumptuous frescoed halls, monumental staircase, and elegant internal courtyard adorned with a fountain. Its construction is owed to Marquis Lorenzo Maria Paternò, president of the Royal Chamber and later minister of the Supreme War Council, who wanted the residence for himself and his son Vincenzo Paternò, vice president of the Supreme Court of Justice. Throughout its long history, the palace has housed important city institutions, including the episcopal seat of the Convitto Vanvitelli, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Education Authority. In the second half of the twentieth century, Palazzo Paternò underwent a careful and meticulous restoration, culminating in the latest renovation by the current owners, the Paternò family, who preserved its historical and architectural value, restoring it to the city as a place of culture, entertainment, and prestigious events.
