The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Wine Route turns 60

Italy's oldest wine route dates back to the 1960s. It was September 10, 1966, when Italo Cosmo, Bepi Mazzotti, and Giuseppe Schiratti, leading figures in the cultural scene of the time, founded what we now call the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Wine Route.

To commemorate this important anniversary, the association, led by Isidoro Rebuli, has developed a program of widespread initiatives: "We decided to organize, in collaboration with the IPA and the City of Pieve di Soligo, a truly unique photographic exhibition featuring the material we were able to recover, and to produce a documentary film featuring previously unseen and valuable testimonies. This anniversary is not only symbolic, but also represents a moment of reflection on the future of wine tourism and pride in a region that has successfully combined landscape, culture, and a manufacturing excellence recognized worldwide."

What began sixty years ago as the White Wine Route, which in 2003 became the Prosecco and Wines of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Hills Route and which today is called the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Wine Route, holds the record as the oldest Wine Route in Italy: “We are proud and aware,” Rebuli continued, “of being the custodians of a great responsibility, dictated by the enlightened vision of three of our land's most important intellectuals.

We are deeply grateful to them, because they understood what is now well-established and what represents our hallmark in terms of tourism: the close connection between product and landscape." Rebuli recalled the flagship events organized by the Road, the 100Miglia and WeekCantina: "Events that bring added value to the area and take on further importance thanks to the authenticity and professionalism of the people who welcome tourists."

The association has 250 members and is historically considered the first concrete example of territorial marketing in Italy.

Upcoming events

An exhibition of photography, documentaries, and objects, held at Villa Brandolini in Solighetto: "THE CONEGLIANO-VALDOBBIADENE ROAD, AN INNOVATIVE STORY, to promote the landscape, culture, and excellence of the area." Opening Friday, September 18, at 6:00 PM.

An exhibition of vintage images, documents, posters, sketches, and objects that have accompanied the activities of the Strada del Vino Bianco since the early 1960s. An immersive journey that recounts a relatively recent yet rapidly evolving era.

Saturday, September 26th, a two-hour hike of nearly 6 kilometers. A hike along the Anello del Moncader (Moncader Ring) of the Cammino delle Colline del Prosecco (Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene) to discover unique cultural curiosities, accompanied by an exceptional guide: Giovanni Carraro, the creator of the Cammino.

October, presentation of the documentary film ADAGIO ADAGIO, which offers a glimpse into the Conegliano Valdobbiadene region through a road trip along the historic Wine Route. A video story in six sections: history, art, landscape, ancient crafts, gastronomy, and wine.
