The former power station in Tapada da Ajuda has been transformed into a restaurant: this is the new Geradora do Esporão

The new Esporão project opens on September 18th; here, we have a restaurant, cellar, tastings, museum, shop, and a cultural program.

Tapada da Ajuda will soon have a space managed by Esporão. The new addition is Geradora, which opens this Friday in a former "industrial building over a century old". The renovation was carried out by the Gorvell studio, which "preserved the character and several original elements", adapting them to a "contemporary use".

According to Esporão, the idea is that there isn't "just one way to visit" the space: you can have lunch, do a wine tasting, see an exhibition, or attend a concert. The restaurant aspect is led by chef Manuel Liebaut, with "seasonal, contemporary, and uncomplicated" dishes.

In the cellar, you'll find wines from "different origins" of Esporão, and it will be possible to "participate in tastings, learn about regions and vintages, or choose a bottle to accompany your meal."

Geradora also includes a shop, a museum space, and a "regular program" of music, film, exhibitions, talks, and meetings. The space is open from Thursday to Monday and, initially, will only be available for lunch, with reservations available from 12:30 to 14:30.
