Hey breakfast hunters, this whopper savoury croissant is calling your name

Look, we all know the drill when September rolls around.

The evenings are drawing in, the weather is getting undeniably aggressive, and suddenly your standard bowl of weekday porridge feels less like a healthy choice and more like a personal punishment.

Autumn is officially here, which means it’s time to stop pretending you’re a light-salad person and start spoiling yourself for breakfast like you mean it.

Enter the absolute mad scientists at Lab 82 on Lower Glanmire Road, who have a new treat to try when they open this Thursday for the weekend.

Here’s the breakdown of their new special, which is essentially a masterclass in morning self-care: A buttery, flaky savoury croissant; two perfectly poached eggs; homemade avocado hollandaise and pickled vegetables to cut through the rich goodness. Chorizo crumb is generously sprinkled over the top.

Is it going to solve all your autumn blues before 10am? Almost certainly.

If you’re looking for an excuse to swap your sensible morning toast for a full-blown culinary event, grab a table opposite Kent Station from Thursday to Sunday, 9.30am.
