Condé Nast Traveller invites you to A Taste of the Cayman Islands at Wild by Tart this month

September has long been synonymous with back to school. But in the world of Condé Nast Traveller, it also means making exciting plans for the year ahead – and these typically revolve around the hottest restaurants on the horizon and travel.

In the spirit of prolonging the summer sun that is suddenly setting earlier in London, there might be no time more perfect than the turn of the month to join Condé Nast Traveller for an evening celebrating the Cayman Islands at Wild by Tart, Belgravia's chicest coal station-turned-eatery.

Set to be hosted by acclaimed Caymanian street food chef Diego Smith, who will be bringing the island's vibrant culinary Caribbean culture to life through an array of cocktails, canapés, and a dinner with wine pairings, we already expect this to be the kind of event where guests will leave happily debating their favourite dish. Not to mention, we'll take any excuse for an evening with a compelling culinary voice from an equally covetable location.

Over the course of the evening, Chef Diego Smith will bring the islands to the table via an expertly-curated menu inspired by Cayman’s exceptionally fresh and flavourful produce, all steeped in local traditions and deep sense of place.

You can expect anything from mahi ceviche in fresh orange marinade, jerk pork belly on cassava charcoal, grilled chicken papaya salad and traditional Cayman snapper, coconut and breadfruit run-down stew. And if dessert (we won't spoil it) isn't enough to convince you to book a one-way ticket to George Town in your cab home, we don't know what will.

From stories behind the kitchen door to the zingy flavours you'd expect straight off a grill on a turquoise water-hemmed beach, we're already counting down the days to this evening that'll be the perfect way to settle back into the bustle of London, all while dreaming for what's ahead.
