“We need spaces to share and be heard now, more than ever. We need to connect around and beyond coffee now, more than ever. And we need offline, analog media now, more than ever.”

The relaunch centers on Issue 26, which features more than 150 pages of creative and expressive works from more than 80 people who work in and around coffee. The largest issue in the Zine’s history, the issue explores the theme “enough.”

“The work asks what it means to have enough, to be enough and to know when enough is enough,” Coffee People Zine said in an announcement of the relaunch. “From getting what we need to a recurring motif of burnout, ENOUGH examines what we need to survive — and what might allow us to thrive.” Coffee roasting professional and artist Kat Melheim (@roasterkat) founded Coffee People Zine in 2018. “We need art now, more than ever,” Melheim said in the announcement. “We need spaces to share and be heard now, more than ever.

We need to connect around and beyond coffee now, more than ever. And we need offline, analog media now, more than ever.”

Open to the public, the Sept. 20 release party is taking place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at FRGMNT Coffee inside the Open Book community and literary center in Minneapolis’ Mill District. Held in collaboration with Raise the Bar, the event will also serve as the closing party for the Level Up barista education and networking event.

The evening will include an “art throwdown” plus pizza and beverages. Comments?
