Feng Sheng: 24-Hour Chicken Rice Eatery With Steamboat, Kaya Toast And More

While chicken rice stalls are dime a dozen in Singapore, chicken rice stalls that also double as a steamboat place and open 24 hours daily are surely rare. Feng Sheng Chicken Rice & Steamboat is one such eatery, offering moreish plates of our unofficial national dish, while also offering hotpot feasts. The eatery, located in Rochor and East Coast, offers both steamed and roasted chicken rice, and you can get individual servings of each.

But if you really want to get the full Feng Sheng experience, be sure to go for one of the chicken rice and steamboat combos. If you’re going as a pair, get the Combo A Steamboat Combo ($68.60++). Suitable for two people, this set features a quarter of a chicken, two plates of fragrant chicken rice, and a bunch of ingredients—such as sliced meat, seafood, and vegetables—for you to dunk into your steamboat.

It’ll make for quite a hearty and satisfying meal. If you’re going in a group of three to four people, the Combo B Steamboat Combo, which comes with half a chicken, one side dish, four plates of rice, and the steamboat ingredients, will set you back $78.60++.

If you’re after something beyond chicken rice and steamboat, Feng Sheng also has a small BBQ menu worth checking out. Their BBQ Sambal Stingray ($18++) comes wrapped in banana leaf and topped with a generous spoonful of sambal, a good pick if you like your seafood with a bit of heat.

Also worth trying is the BBQ Sotong ($18++), featuring char-grilled squid rings coated in a similarly spiced sambal, finished with a squeeze of lime on the side. Feng Sheng also does a simple pastry and toast menu for those wanting something lighter. The Kaya Butter Toast ($2.50++) comes with crisp, buttery toast slathered with kaya, best paired with Soft Boiled Eggs ($2.50++).
