Open around the clock daily, Julaiha Muslim Restaurant is a supper spot you should definitely try. The 10-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT Station is worth it when you finally dig into their murtabak, which reviews have commended for its consistent quality.

Many customers order the Mutton (from $8) version, that’s said to be crispy on the outside, with a filling of tender, richly flavoured meat. Another good option is Chicken (from $8), accented with onion. Otherwise, you can try their Sardine (from $7), which goes well with their spicy curry dip.

They’re open from 7am to 11pm every day, so you could have their murtabak for breakfast and supper. Most murtabak come with standard fillings of mutton, chicken, and such, but at Zam Zam, you’ll be able to order one filled with Deer (from $12) meat, which is said to have a richer, meatier flavour. One for the Easties, Mr & Mrs Mohgan Super Crispy Roti Prata is renowned for their popular crispy prata, with waiting times easily surpassing an hour on weekends. Lesser known, but no less tasty, are their murtabak options, of which they have two.

Be sure to head down early as they sell out really quick. If you didn’t know, Mrs Mohgan is the only one running the stall now, after her husband passed away early last year.

Nonetheless, her Mutton ($8) murtabak is still well-reviewed, and stars the same crisp dough as their famous prata. Otherwise, opt for Sardine ($7) if you prefer something with fish.

Although the murtabak here only comes in single-size portions, the servings are said to still be generous. For $5.50, you can get a Cheese murtabak, though their Cheese Mushroom ($7) is the more popular option. Unlike at other murtabak eateries, you can get freshly made sambal to go with your murtabak here!

Like at Enaq, this restaurant also has its own Ultimate Murtabak ($16.90) that serves two; it’s stuffed with tandoori chicken, portobello mushrooms and mozzarella cheese, making it totally worth the calories. For a change, you could also try their Magic Meatless Murtabak ($8.90) which comes loaded with lentils, mushrooms, curry leaves, vegan mayo, and Korean sauce.

Alternatively, go for their bestselling Chicken (from $9.90) murtabak. You can even add on additional toppings such as Mushroom ($1.40), Cheddar ($3.40), and Mozzarella ($3.40).

For those of us with a sweet tooth, there’s Smile Murtabak, which specialises in using premium ingredients to make sweet murtabak. Unlike the roti prata-like savoury versions, these sweet murtabak are more similar to min jiang kueh.

Try their Ondeh-Ondeh Special, where a thick pandan pancake is stuffed with palm sugar and coconut flakes. Alternatively, go for their Original Choco-Cheese, for pancake spread with melted chocolate and cheddar cheese.
