Daebak Korean Restaurant Opens In Tai Seng

Tai Seng is becoming somewhat of a hidden gem for foodies to discover.

JB-famous DaCheng Lok Lok recently set up shop in Tai Seng Avenue, and now, Daebak Korean Restaurant has also entered the neighbourhood. If the eatery sounds familiar, you might have come across their first outlet in Dhoby Ghaut.

At this new Tai Seng branch, patrons can expect the same wallet-friendly Korean fare, with mains under $15. Choose from their range of classic Korean stews, with popular picks such as Tofu Soup Seafood ($10.90): a spicy-savoury broth brimming with soft tofu chunks and seafood, topped with an egg, and served with a bowl of rice.

There’s also a Beef Soup ($11.90) and Kimchi Soup Tuna ($11.90) if you wish to load up on the protein. They also have Korean ramyeon, perfect for rainy days.

The Armystew Ramyeon ($11.90) stars the same ingredients you’d get in a heaping pot of army stew—luncheon meat, sausage, baked beans, rice cakes and more—but in a solo portion instead, so you can enjoy it alone. If you prefer rice to noodles, go for their Sizzling Bibimbap with Tofu ($11.90), Chicken ($13.90), or Beef ($13.90).

Otherwise, try their BBQ Beef ($11.90) or Gochujang Pork ($11.90) hotplate. Don’t miss out on their special menu too, which sees sharing-worthy sides such as Chive Pancake ($11.90), Rappoki ($10.90)—tteokbokki and ramyeon—and Japchae ($10.90). The new restaurant is hidden in the Tai Seng industrial area along Harvey Road, a nine-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT Station.
