Almamia: restaurant and boutique hotel in Rome
Almamia opens in the Roma neighborhood, in a mansion restored by Alberto Kalach, with signature cuisine that blends Mexican tradition and haute French cuisine.
Almamia has opened on the bustling Álvaro Obregón avenue, in the heart of the Roma neighborhood, as both a restaurant and hotel. The space occupies a mansion restored by architect Alberto Kalach, offering a warm and intimate atmosphere that blends nostalgia and modernity.
The kitchen is run by chef David Hernández Aguilar, with more than 30 years of experience, who seeks to cook memories and pay homage to Mexican tradition and haute French cuisine.
Among the appetizers, the kampachi toast with matcha sauce stands out. Main courses include leg of lamb in puff pastry and stone soup in the style of San Felipe Usila. Mole appears in versions such as risotto with goat cheese, tripe à la Saint-Jacques, and black mole.
For dessert, there's coffee tiramisu with cocol anise and fig pudding with Xtabentún sauce. The wine list features labels not commonly found in other Mexico City restaurants, and wines by the glass complete the experience.
The place is located at Álvaro Obregón 124, in the Roma neighborhood, and its offering is useful both for those exploring the neighborhood on foot and for those looking for accommodation.
