For four days, Testaccio becomes the world capital of ravioli

After Rome's Oktoberfest, the large outdoor space of the Città dell'Altra Economia in Testaccio hosts a new event not to be missed. From September 26th to 29th, it's the turn of Dumpling Park, the festival showcasing the ravioli in all its international variations: from Japanese gyoza to Chinese ravioli, from Argentinean empanadas to Sardinian ravioli.
The free-admission event immerses visitors in a gastronomic journey, celebrating the variety and versatility of the ravioli, reinterpreted with a modern twist by numerous chefs and cuisines from diverse cultures. Numerous food stalls are ready to offer their specialties (freshly prepared), featuring a wide selection of ravioli and other international dishes.
Dumpling Park in Rome: What to Eat
Each corner has its own specialties, and to showcase them best, high-level representatives from various Roman establishments have been invited. Chinese dumplings are served at the Dumpling Bar, which prepares them artisanally and serves them both steamed and grilled, with a wide selection of fillings. Travel to Japan to try the gyoza, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, prepared by Akira and Mun, who also adds bao, the famous steamed buns, to his corner's offerings.
Stop in Argentina at Ceibo Corner, where you can sample mouthwatering empanadas, while returning to Italy with Sardinian ravioli (including culurgiones and seadas) handcrafted by Le Mani in Pasta. For a global tour, the corner headed by Lorenzo Leonetti, chef of Osteria Grandma, is the perfect place: here you can sample ravioli from around the world, including Eastern European pierogi, Indian samosas, and Senegalese fataya. Finally, enjoy fried gyoza at the stand inside the Città dell'Altra Economia.
Dumpling Park in Rome: There's also a Kids' Area
As always, events at the Città dell'Altra Economia are suitable for everyone, including families with children. For this reason, a special Kids' Area is available. On Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, little ones can participate in fun creative workshops and educational activities. A chance for children to experiment and learn, while parents enjoy the event and the specialties on offer.
