- 1 organic lemon
- 1 Organic Orange
- 1 kg sugar
- 25 g citric acid
- 25 St. Holunderblütendolde
Method · 30 min
- Wash the lemon and orange thoroughly with hot water and slice them. Bring 1 liter of water, sugar, and citric acid to a boil.
- Gently wash elderflowers in still water and let them drain, or simply shake them to remove the pollen. Layer orange and lemon slices and the blossoms in a clean container. Pour the syrup over them.
- Cover and let steep at room temperature for 3 days, stirring occasionally. Pour through a fine sieve or cheesecloth, bring to a boil again, and pour hot into clean bottles. Seal tightly and store in a cool, dark place. Unopened, it will keep for about 1 year.
You can replace the lemons with oranges or add mint, lemon balm or other herbs to get a different flavor.
