Sergio Giraldo makes the bar of Señuelo 7 Caníbales shine

Sergio Giraldo makes the bar of Señuelo 7 Caníbales shine

There's something special about enjoying a meal at a bar. In traditional establishments, or more recently in fine dining restaurants, bars offer a relaxed and social atmosphere that traditional table service simply can't match.

You can start with their highly recommended prawn salad and an assortment of pickles that will prepare your palate for one of their classics, the liquid prawn croquette. A surprising new addition is the seafood patatas bravas, with a touch of grated bonito tuna. Other noteworthy bites include the impeccable cuttlefish with mayonnaise from the San Pedro bar or the Almusafes-style roll with seafood sobrasada (a sort of homage to chef Ángel León). I know it might be overkill, but before the rice dish, order the squid and blanquet stew brioche, even if it's just to share. It's fantastic! Squid in a caramelized onion sauce, stuffed with the relish of the classic Valencian blanquet sausage.

Among the paella rice dishes they serve are the rabbit and snail paella, the prawn paella, or the seafood paella with fish from the beach, like the one that Giraldo himself brought to the bar, presided over by a sea bream that was pure taste of the sea.

There are some hearty stews, fresh fish from the market, and quality meats served shredded, along with a selection of desserts from the bar, among which their pickled melon served with apple granita truly shines. It leaves you feeling refreshed.

You can eat well at the bar for an average bill of €25 to €30. The tables at Señuelo are still just as well served.
