Qué contiene el condimento para aves y cómo preparar el tuyo

Aunque existe la tentación de reservar esta mezcla de especias para las fiestas, es tan versátil que funciona durante todo el año en verduras asadas, sopas y hasta en palomitas de maíz.

Sage and thyme are almost universally used to season poultry. Other ingredients may include rosemary, marjoram, oregano, as well as flavorings such as pepper, nutmeg, paprika, celery seed, and garlic or onion powder. Some blends also include salt, so be careful with this ingredient to avoid making your dish too salty.

If you don't have it on hand, you can make your own poultry seasoning with what you probably already have. The advantage is that you have complete control over the flavor. You can add or remove herbs and spices as you see fit, and adjust the amount of each ingredient to suit your preferences. Consider adding cinnamon, which will give your roast chicken an unexpected complexity. Don't like the taste of rosemary? Just leave it out.

To make your own poultry seasoning, start by adding the dried herbs to a mortar and pestle. If you're not sure where to begin, try classics like sage, thyme, rosemary, and a pinch of nutmeg. Grind everything together until you have a fine consistency, making sure the flavors blend well. The end result will be a flavorful meal.
