The VIVE Fair and its second edition reflected the growth of San Juan residents interested in the world of vermouth and natural wines
“I think that day by day there is a growing interest in natural wines, which are wines from projects that we don't find in the supermarket or that we find it harder to access,” said the young man from San Juan.
The event was not limited to just tasting drinks, as workshops and talks were also held for small groups, with different producers who shared their stories, tips and career paths.
The program included a vermouth-making workshop led by Beto Godoy of Weermood. IBT Fermenta discussed the role of yeasts in winemaking, while Cholita and Nomada Tarot shared a session of “Vermouth, Tarot, and Herbs.” Francisco Cruz of Finca Pastorelli gave a talk on aged wines, and Leo Ruiz of La Baguala presented a selection of mountain wines. For Rostoll, these events foster a different kind of conversation between producers and consumers. This direct contact is part of the identity they seek to cultivate.
This year's fair brought together projects such as Raíz Profunda, Sorocayo, La Baguala, Finca Pastorelli, 35.cinco, La Fortuna, Elefante Wines, Bodega Vinecol, Obon Wines, Bodega Romano Pin, Santa Julia Naturales, Trasviento Wines, Fervere Wines, Sempiterno, Casa Tano, Entre Cepas, Escuela Agrotécnica Cornelio Saavedra, Famiglia Delle Vedove, Giol, Vermut Pais, Paradoja, Federal Vermouth, Ruda Hembra, Montarraz Destilería, Weermood, Alfonsina Vermut, Vermunábico, Cholita Vermut, Ñata Vermut, Padró & Co, Vecino Vermu, Caraú Vermut, Giovannoni Vermouth, Viento Vermut, Rodo Vermú, Chula Vermut, San Secondo, and Upillay.
Music and gastronomy to complete the experience
The event aimed to transform a visit to the fair into a more comprehensive experience. Music was the highlight of the evening, featuring DJ sets by Edu Campos, Minnim, and Cumbia Nenx.
This was complemented by a gastronomic offering from Charcutería de los Andes, Parque Parador de Montaña and Chapad Nan, to accompany the tastings and the tour through the different stands.
The invitation is renewed for this Saturday, September 19th, with the second day of the fair starting at 6:00 PM and continuing throughout the afternoon. Tickets can be purchased online at Avantti.io. The entrance fee is $10,000; while access to the masterclasses costs $20,000 and includes premium tastings.
Thus, the second edition of VIVE once again combined tasting, production, gastronomy, music and learning, with the intention of consolidating a meeting space for an audience that, according to its organizers, is becoming increasingly interested in the world of natural wines and vermouth.
