We've already tried the new Sunday brunch at Picnic in the Park. Find out everything you can eat
The InterContinental Lisbon's brunch space now offers a Sunday brunch menu with options for all tastes. Learn more.
Picnic in the Park, a space within the Intercontinental Lisbon hotel, offers a relaxed concept perfect for taking photos, and now features a new offering: a Sunday Brunch Menu, designed for leisurely weekend mornings.
The idea for Picnic in the Park was born from a conversation between Catarina Silva, the park's director, and the hotel's operations director. "I really wanted to create a green space that complemented the park," Catarina Silva told MAGG at the launch of the new feature, adding that she also suggested the name that ultimately stuck.
“From there we started creating everything that was the menu. Everything that was the music, the style of service, the food, the decoration. It's part of what we want to convey, which is the park we have here in front of us,” said Catarina Silva.
The new menu explores different culinary worlds, starting with sandwiches and toasts, where highlights include the smoked salmon bagel with avocado, cream cheese and herbs (€17), the open sandwich with avocado, smoked salmon and poached egg (€16), or the famous The Picnic Chicken Prego, with grilled chicken, arugula, brie cheese, yogurt sauce and French fries (€16).
In the egg section, the most emblematic dish is Eggs Benedict on seeded bread, served with Picnic sauce, a pink version of the classic hollandaise sauce, with the option of smoked salmon, bacon or spinach (€14). The menu also includes creamy scrambled eggs (€9) and omelets, including a version with mushrooms and spinach (€11).
For those who prefer to start Sunday with fresher options, there are also poke bowls, such as the Ocean Poke, with salmon, edamame, mango, avocado, wakame, crispy onion and cilantro (€17), or the Green Poke, with tofu (€16), as well as salads such as the peach, ham, mozzarella and walnut salad (€16), or the quinoa, roasted pumpkin, pomegranate, cherry tomato and tofu salad (€15).
For dessert and pancakes, the menu offers raspberry pancakes with lime, mascarpone and caramelized pistachio (€14), vanilla pancakes with strawberries and salted caramel (€12), or waffles with lemon curd, ricotta and macerated peaches (€14). To finish the meal, there is also passion fruit and mango cheesecake (€8), red velvet cake (€8) or sliced fruit (€7).
The drinks menu complements the experience, from classic espressos (€3), Americano coffee (€4) and cappuccino (€5) to juices and fresh drinks, such as the Rise & Shine, with orange, pineapple, ginger and lemon (€7), the Green Scape, with green apple, kiwi, cucumber and lemon (€7), the Very Berry Glow, with strawberry and apple (€7), the Glow Getter, with carrot, orange and ginger (€7), or passion fruit lemonade (€6). For a more festive touch, there is also the option of a mimosa (€9) or a glass of sparkling wine (€12).
Those who prefer the full experience can opt for the brunch menu, available for €39 per person, which includes a main course of your choice between eggs, a sandwich or salad, a pancake or waffles, a dessert or yogurt, a drink of your choice and a mimosa.
In addition to the brunch menu, Picnic in the Park maintains its main menu during the week, featuring poke bowls such as the Tiger Tuna (€14), the Pink Ocean (€16), or the Golden Coast (€15), as well as the option to create your own poke bowl (€16). Among the favorites are The Club Picnic (€16), the Salmon Lovers Wrap (€14), and The Park Prego (€18), as well as desserts like Berry Cloud (€8), Pink Affair (€8), and Fruit Picnic (€8). The menu also includes a selection of 14-piece sushi for R$23, which, according to the manager, has already received praise from Arab guests accustomed to frequenting high-end restaurants: "They say it's one of the best sushis they've ever eaten."
The Sunday Brunch menu will be available from September 20th. Picnic in the Park is open from 10:30 am to 6 pm and is located next to Eduardo VII Park, at the InterContinental Lisbon.
