Sip free cocktails and uncover Jameson’s secret history in Midleton this Culture Night
Hitting East Cork for Culture Night this year?
If your ideal plan involves free drinks, rich Irish history, and learning how to mix yourself a decent cocktail, this will be your cup of tea.
The Midleton Distillery Experience has just unveiled its special Culture Night lineup for Friday, September 18th, 2026, offering guests a free behind-the-scenes look into the craft, history, and lore of world-famous Irish whiskey.
The main event of the night is The Story of Jameson – Hidden History from the Archive, a series of illustrated talks hosted by Carol Quinn, Head of Archives at Irish Distillers. Carol will dive into forgotten stories, vintage materials, and secrets from the archive that track Jameson’s rise to global fame.
Even better? Guests (aged over 18) attending the talks will be handed a complimentary Jameson, Ginger & Lime upon arrival.
If you’re more interested in what goes into the glass, bartender Conor McCardle will be hosting three interactive cocktail demonstrations at the bar. He’ll be weaving elements of the Irish language into the craft of cocktail making, and yes – there will be plenty of free samples.
The cocktail demos take place at 5pm, 5.30pm, and 6pm at the bar, with archive talks at 6pm, 6.30pm and 7pm. Places for the archive talks are strictly limited, so you’ll need to snag a free ticket in advance via Eventbrite.
