From July 13th to 15th, three evenings of haute cuisine, wine, music, and tradition will take place in the village of Vico Equense, featuring over 150 chefs and restaurateurs.
Girogustando and signature cuisine meet tradition. From July 13th to 15th, the village of Seiano di Vico Equense will once again transform into a grand stage of flavor and entertainment with the fifth edition of the event, promoted by APS Gens Seja and chaired by Ciro Buonocore, now one of the most anticipated summer events on the Sorrento Peninsula.
Presented at the Dei Maestri Restaurant at the Dell'Amura family's Grand Hotel Moon Valley, the event features a further enhanced format. Over forty-five different chefs and restaurateurs will create a food and wine journey each evening showcasing the region's finest, enhanced by the presence of renowned Michelin-starred Italian chefs: Giuseppe Aversa of Il Buco, Giuseppe Guida of Antica Osteria Nonna Rosa, Ciro Sicignano of Lorelei, Sakai Fumiko of Relais Blu, pastry chef Benedetta Somma of Il Papavero, and Domenico Iavarone of Zest, who will take part in a prestigious gastronomic relay race over the course of the three evenings.
Alongside the flavors, there will be music, shows, art, exhibitions, and cooking demonstrations. Artistic director Marco Palmieri will offer a program that combines folk traditions, storytellers, live bands, and DJ sets.
"This fifth edition is even richer and more ambitious," emphasized Ciro Buonocore, president of APS Gens Seja. "We've built a program that will offer different experiences every evening, featuring top-notch chefs for a total of approximately one hundred and fifty leading restaurant professionals. 'Girogustando' is growing because it unites culture, art, and local products, showcasing the excellence of the Sorrento Peninsula and Campania."
The contribution of partners, including Pizza a Metro, the Provolone del Monaco DOP Consortium, Slow Food, and Coldiretti, who will be present with their own dedicated spaces for their traditional products, is also crucial. "This event," emphasized Regional Councilor for Agriculture Maria Carmela Serluca, "is a true showcase for Campania's excellent products and agri-food heritage."
Also speaking at the presentation were Vincenzo Cirillo, councilor of the Metropolitan City of Naples with responsibility for Territorial Promotion and Agriculture, and Annalisa Donnarumma, deputy mayor of Vico Equense, demonstrating the strong institutional support for the initiative.
Ample parking will be available for the public, with a shuttle service from the center of Vico Equense and Marina di Equa. The food trail includes a €25 voucher for five tastings and a bottle of water, while wine enthusiasts can choose the wine trail, featuring eight wineries spread across five stations, thanks to a €10 bracelet that allows for free tastings.
Three evenings, one village, and a journey through scents, flavors, and identities: "Girogustando" thus confirms itself as much more than a celebration of taste, becoming an authentic manifesto of the food and wine culture of the Sorrento Peninsula.
